I recently had to drive my Chevy Trailblazer to Michigan from Arizona, appox 2100 mi. I calculated the city mpg just before the trip and was devastated. My SUV was only pulling about 12 mpg city, which is comparable to a 1 ton truck!! I replaced the factory air filter with a "brand name removed" air filter at 9k miles but never noticed any mpg difference do to the fact I had bought the SUV for my wife. I decided to purchase an OEM replacement filter from K&N before my road trip. I was grinning ear to ear when I was getting 23.9 MPG through the San Andreas Mountains in New Mexico with 4 passengers and loaded full of luggage. My $49 purchase saved me about $80 including the price of the filter. It saved even more on the return trip because the filter had already paid for itself.

I have a 2006 F-150 King Ranch and since I bought it I was lucky to see 14 MPH. I made the change over to the K & N filter and it has taken me to 16 MPH on average. This was a great investment and now I may even get the Kit for more HP and I hope more gas mileage.

My first K&N air filter went into my 1989 Ford Bronco II V6 4X4 when I bought it in 1990. That is the only air filter I have ever put in the vehicle! Just a slight H.P. gain was noticed, I could tell the engine was breathing better though. I have put just over 200,000 miles on the filter and still get 21+ m.p.g. on the highway, if I took it easy I could pull 23 m.p.g. when the vehicle was new. I still have it in and it is working great. I put one in my Honda Shadow VT1100 motorcycle and noticed a H.P. and m.p.g. improvement. I have gotten almost 53 m.p.g. compared to 50 with a stock filter. I can still get 51-52 m.p.g. with aftermarket high performance spark plugs and pipes. Now I plan on installing one in my 2001 Malibu, can't wait!

I am an agent in the upper Midwest. I log an average of 1500 miles a week calling on accounts in 5 states. I was averaging 22.8 MPG on my most recent trips in my 2006 Lincoln Town Car. I was leaving Sunday afternoon for an RV dealer convention in Louisville, Kentucky. That morning I installed a new K&N air filter based on a recommendation from a client. I logged 1680 miles this trip. My average MPG jumped to an incredible 26.2 MPG. I was amazed at the jump. The car's performance was awesome as well. This is my first experience with K&N, but will be standard equipment on my fleet of vehicles from now on.

"On a recent trip to the United states, I purchased a FilterCharger® for my MX 5, and on the day of my return I installed it immediately. I can not recall any other product I've ever purchased that made so much a difference to performance for the money. I have looked at your competitors products and have driven cars with them installed. Upon learning more about your FilterCharger®, I thought I would give it a try. Well I'm very impressed."

Dear K&N,
I recently traveled across country from South Carolina to Utah. My old filter needed a change and my Dad told me how much difference in gas mileage he got with your air filter. He drives a Ford F150 and I have a 99 Buick LeSabre. I have to admit that the cost of the filter had deterred me for years in buying one. But not anymore, I did buy one at the local Advance Auto before I left to move out west. In general I used to average 21mpg around town and 26 to 27 on the Interstate. My Buick has 121k miles on it so I really wasn't expecting much. My car was loaded down as far as I could safely and legally go. I averaged 27mpg in the mountains and 30 to 31 on the straight and flat areas of the Interstate. Incredible gains considering how loaded down the car was. A/C was used about 75% of the time. Now that I am living in the big city with stop and go traffic, my MPG today at the pump was 25mpg. I am grateful that I got the filter. As you can see I have gained 3 to 4 more miles per gallon. I figured that the filter paid for itself just in the trip alone. And now that it's paid for I will never have to spend money on another filter but just the upkeep and maintenance on the one I have. Thank you very much for a wonderful product! I just can't believe I didn't buy one years ago.

I recently installed your air filter for my 2004
Polaris MV7, I knew I was going to get a horsepower gain but I didn't think
that it would get that much! My MV7 had a huge flat spot at the low
range. After installing the filter and precharger I went out to test
it and smashed in the throttle and my MV7 took off like I've never seen.
I received a huge gain in torque (which comes in handy pulling other ATVs
out of holes) and better gas mileage, more speed and it has a awesome growl
when I give throttle. It does things it never could do. Thanks for
making your great product. I've included photos of MV7.

Hey all,
I have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt LS and just installed a hi-flow drop in filter in the stock air box and must say I am impressed on how the car runs cooler. I can already see the increase in gas mileage and power. I swear my Cobalt just wants to get up and go and it sounds sweet. You car literally hear more air coming into the air box. My next move is to install a k&n typhoon ram intake kit on it. Keep up the good work k&n.

Three years ago I installed a K&N filter in my 04 Ford F150 with a 4.6L V8 and installed a tonneau cover at the same time. With these two upgrades, my gas mileage jumped from 14.5 to 17 mpg in mixed (spirited) driving with marked increase in throttle response and acceleration....So here I sit in my pajamas having just installed my sixth K&N filter purchase in my 2007 Ram 1500 with a 5.7L Hemi...... I don't know if I will get any sleep tonight in anticipation of my drive to work tomorrow.

Hi my name is Valencio Miranda. I am a Roller Skating Instructor having my own coaching class as well as I coach in a few reputed schools in Mumbai India.
Ever since I can remember, I have been crazy about your product, but it really took some time before I could actually buy one for myself and now I have a biggest smile on my face. This smile has my family and fiancée wondering what's on my mind. Now they will know... Its your filter. I had bought a second hand Ford Ikon 1.6 GLX 2001 model which had done about 38000 km and the first owner never actually took care of it.
After restoring it to some glory, I saved enough to buy my dream filter. Earlier I used to get only 8 kmpl and it was getting to be a burden. Then I spoke to your dealer Mr Razza in Mumbai who explained to me and helped in advising me according to my needs to put your stock filter. And now after calculating many times I could not believe that I was now actually getting 9.5 kmpl in the same condition or even worse Mumbai traffic. I felt it my duty to thank all your engineers and may God bless all of you for this "LIFE GIVING PRODUCT". I have even called Mr Razza and thanked him for his genuine advice. Thank you once again. I will be surely telling everyone about your products and since I am a roller skating coach if ever you have something I could use such as some speed oil let me know. Thanks once again for making me have my big smile.

Product Testimony--I'm Impressed!!!
Gentlemen--
All these years I thought the claims of increased performance using your air filters were bull.
Boy, was I wrong!
I installed a K&N air filter on my 98 VW Jetta GLS, and the difference was immediate!
And after a day, the ECU adjusted for the increased air flow, and I got even more gains!
Faster low end acceleration, quicker throttle response, and an extra 2 MPG on top of all that!
Best money I ever spent on a filter, and worth every penny!

2004 Dodge Quad Cab 1500 HEMI
Hello,
I installed a Readylift 2.5" leveling system, Flowmaster RV muffler and a more aggressive set of 20" tires, the bigger tires and the exhaust made the truck shift earlier than before which made the truck shift up and down a lot. I installed the Series 77 cold air intake system and that solved the problem. The intake sounds great and moved my shift points back to where they belong. This is the best aftermarket item I have EVER bought. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME.

K&N 57i feedback
Dear K&N,
I recently fitted a 57i (induction) kit to my BMW Mini Cooper and all I can say is WOW!!! The kit is so easy to fit thanks to comprehensive instructions with colour pictures. The power delivery is now so much smoother and quicker and the sound made by the kit makes the MINI sound the way it always should have, an amazing low and deep burble!! And there's more.. before I fitted the 57i kit I was getting a poor 31mpg.. now I'm getting over 40mpg with the same driving style. I have always been a supporter of K&N products and always will be.

Fantastic Product!
I have used K&N box filters for years and have always been satisfied with the durability and performance. I recently purchased a 2006 Ford Mustang GT for a weekend driver and installed a performance tune that achieved satisfactory increases in torque and horsepower. However, I recently installed the K&N series 63 Air Charger system and HOLY COW! the torque horsepower and now lightning fast throttle response and super G force acceleration are nothing short of incredible not to mention a killer thriller. The power increase was well beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this product, it is easy to install and is a good value for the bolt on performance/ horsepower gains. Thanks K&N.

ASTOUNDING INCREASE IN MPG FOR MY 2007 SHELBY GT 500 MUSTANG
Just wanted to advise you guys that K&N FILTERS are the best filter on the market, and that you guys are by far the best by any test, and way ahead of the rest.
Ordered my K&N FILTER from the K&N on line store, and rcvd it by "BROWN"(UPS) in the specified delivery time frame. What a combination of partnering & customer service par excellence. I hope that you guys are ready for my testimonial, because I am just totally blown away by the fuel economy that I have received. Prior to installing my K&N FILTER, I was shifting at the indicated shift point, which calculates to approximately 1,800 RPM's., but I was only receiving 15.9 to 16.90 MPG.
Upon installation of the K&N PANEL FILTER in my 2007 SHELBY GT 500 MUSTANG, I am now enjoying the incredible fuel economy of 18 MPG. I must also admit that I have seen 19.4 MPG. Of course being the RED BLOODED, and HEAVY FOOTED driver that I am, the MPG does drop to 18 MPG. I should also mention that my motor only has 3,290.00 MILES on her. I reckon that makes her still a virgin, and she has quite awhile before she is totally broken in. Anyway guys, I am at work, and must go, and once again, hats off to the K & N FILTER GANG.
Best regards,

Hello K&N,
I replaced the regular stock GM filter with your K&N filter in my Flex Fuel 2007 Chevy Avalanche and improved my miles per gallon by an average of 2.7 miles on regular gas and 4 miles running on E85. I'm really excited that just a small relatively inexpensive upgrade can produce these marvelous results, thanks K&N.

69 Series Typhoon
I installed the “69 Series Typhoon” kit on my 2006 Honda Accord V6 in about 30 minutes. I did not even bother with the cold air pipe. I can definitely feel the increase in horsepower. I bought the intake because I was looking for a more aggressive growl during hard acceleration and it did not disappoint me. I also put a set of flowmasters on it which together has increased the horsepower from a stock 244 to about 264. I am a very conservative person. however, I can tell you that the 2006 stock Camry V6 and the TL cannot hang. The 69 Series Typhoon sounds good to this 50 year young man.

I've been using K&N drop in filters since 2002 and I have no plans on stopping!
My first K&N filter was in 2002, when I put it in my 2000 Mazda Millenia S 2.3L V6(Supercharged), it was like driving a new car... I immediately saw an increase in performance and from then on, I have placed K&N filters in my vehicles. I had a K&N filter in my 2005 VW Passat GLX 2.8L V6 of which I saw a slight increase in performance acceleration, however there was an increase in gas mileage. I now have a 2007 VW Passat 3.6L VR6 which was quick before, but now it really moves with the K&N filter. I also have a 2006 4Runner 4.0L V6 which has a healthier growl with the K&N and I have noticed an increase in acceleration as well as a slight increase in gas mileage. Both vehicles breathe a lot easier and as always I'm pleased with the K&N product. I even have one my mom's car!
Thanks K&N!

Great Product
Dear K&N
I have recently put a K&N stock replacement filter in my 1991 Chevy K1500 with a 5.7L 350 and what a big difference it made to my truck. I gained more MPG in town and on the highway and now I can hear the motor suck in the air as I apply more throttle.
Thanks K&N for making a great product.

Customer Feedback
I installed a K&N Air Filter on my 2004 Dodge Durango with a 5.7 Hemi engine. It was rated at 18-19 mpg highway, however, after installing this air filter I set the cruise at 70MPH and drove for 75 miles, never having the occasion to alter the speed, and was averaging between 22.7 and 23.1 during the entire trip. In the 3 years since installing it I am extremely satisfied with the increased gas mileage I get, so much so, that I have also installed one on my 2001 Chevrolet Suburban (w/5.3 liter engine), and my 2007 Chrysler 300C, also with a 5.7 MDE Hemi engine. I have consistently recommended K&N Air Filters to friends and family alike, and will install them on every vehicle I buy in the future. Their additional cost over a regular air filer is quickly recovered in saving, not only by increased gas mileage, but never having to buy another one as long as I own the vehicle on which I have installed them.

Awesome !
I just installed a K&N OEM replacement filter for my '99 Dodge 2500 diesel. and already I can feel the results. The turbo seems to spool up quicker and you can definitely hear it. At the moment I am getting about 19 mpg but with this filter I am hoping it will put me above 20 mpg. Ever since my first car I have used K&N filters and will continue to do so.

Dear K&N,
Two days ago I put a cold air induction kit on my 2003 Ford Expedition 4x4 with the 5.4L V8. Yesterday a drag strip in Geneseo, N.Y. had an open track day. I went down with my friends who have a 2000 Trans AM and an 1988 Trans AM. I ended up running at the track against a 2001 Ford Mustang with the V6 and a 2005 Honda Civic Si Hatch Back and lost by just about a sec. Then I ran against a 2002 Jeep Cherokee Limited and beat him by about a tenth of a sec. All I have done to my truck was the intake now I want more!!! I love the new intake. My truck sounds like it wants to eat you now!!
Thanks K&N,

K&N Filter - 2001 Siliverado
From the day I bought my Silverado I kept detailed records for mileage. After a year, I bought and installed the K&N air filter. After two more years of driving and record keeping, the results were in. My mileage increased by an average of 3 miles per gallon, which is awesome for a 5.3 liter V8. I don't know the exact power increase, but I'm sure it was more, and I live in Colorado where the thin air robs any vehicle of power. Thank you for an awesome product.

K&N standing behind their products
I have had the pleasure of communicating with K&N representative Rich Dwyer. I am so impressed by K&N standing behind their products! Rich was a god send, he jumped right on the boat and fought for me against FORD! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate his help and Adam the lawyer you funded to help my case! It is companies like yours that stand behind their products and fight for the consumers rights that I truly appreciate! It is so rare that the consumer gets heard by the companies they buy their products from, they get a answering machine and never a call back! I think K&N not only has GREAT PRODUCTS but they stand behind what they sell! I am truly thankful for all that you have done and if I can ever help you I would not hesitate!
Again THANK YOU!

I have always heard my dad go on about how good K&N filters are so I decided to buy one. I immediately felt the difference.
Pulling out of a parking lot I was at the front of a red light, and looked over and saw a turbo Audi, now I drive a stock 99 Mirage with a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder.
I figured he was going to smoke me but I beat him through the intersection and to the next light, now I need to go brag to my dad how good K&N Air filters really are.

I just installed a 77 Series on my 06 GMC 2500 HD. I was surprised with the ease of installation, no longer than a hour from when I turned the truck off to when I was turning it on again. The throttle response is amazing, the sound is amazing, and the fuel mileage increase is incredible. Going from 10 to 12 miles per gallon. From now on it's K&N all the way, I would recommend this product to anyone.

Dear K&N,
I am a believer of K&N product since high school. Used it in all my sport cars & off road vehicles. I now have an '04 Kawasaki Ninja ZX12R and I am happy with the horse power gain after replacing the original filters and yesterday I received a K&N Cold Air Intake kit for my '07 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi, installed it and I am ready to see some fuel mileage increase. The only thing I found that was confusing was installing the saddle bracket but entire install was over an hour and boy I felt the power gain when I test drove it. Great job designing these filters and kits, worth every $$$ I spent on the kit to save $$$$$$$$ on fuel that I will be wasting in the years to come.
Thank you!

I have a '05 Mustang with the K&N air filter. The car has 50,000 miles so far, and I just cleaned the air filter. I am pleased with your product. I've used K&N on every car I owned, and it's a pleasure to know that the air filter is the best money can buy; and with the recharger kit, it's the most cost effective.

Just wanted to drop a line and let you know the success I've had with your filters and products.
I bought my first vehicle when I was 17 years old. It was an 1991 Acura Integra. Staying true to my era I did the whole "tuner" thing. So the first aftermarket item I bought was your short ram air induction kit (Typhoon Air Intake). I couldn't believe the power I felt and gained...
I am now almost 20 years old, and am driving a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero, and yes I have a K&N. I have bought a K&N for my mother, my numerous girl friends, and their fathers. All of which were just as amazed as I am every time I put your products in each one of my vehicles!
Keep up the good work.
And I'll keep up the good word of mouth!

I have a Ford Thunder Bird that has seen 60,000 miles on the K&N Filter. This vehicle was not in my possession for those 60,000 miles and the maintenance wasn’t done. I just wanted to point out the two pictures included show the filtering capability of your product. The filter did its job. A worthwhile investment indeed.

K&N Air Filter
I drive a 1996 Buick Roadmaster with the LT-1, 5.7 litre engine and 128K miles. I was familiar with your products from seeing them installed on shows on Speed Channel.
My friend recently put an air filter in his 4.0 litre V-8 Dodge truck on recommendations from friends. He experienced both power and gas mileage increase...primary reason for his buying K&N was gas mileage increase.
On his recommendation, I put one in my car and found an immediate increase in power and smoother, quicker transitions through the gears of my transmission...requiring less pedal to effect a downshift. (Transmission new at 118K miles.)
I usually get 16.5 mpg around town and 27 mpg on the highway. (A 2:56 rear helps!) I look forward to increasing my mileage with your product, as I no doubt will. Fellow who sold me the filter says he gets more power and 2 mpg more on his old Ford Explorer. Will let you know how I make out.
UPDATE July 9, 2007
Results for '96 Roadmaster
The mileage results for '96 Roadmaster with 129K miles are exciting. For a 215 mile around town route my mileage improved from 16.5 mpg to 19.7 mpg with the A/C on about half the time.
On a 300 mile loop to NJ and back my gas mileage went from 27 mpg to 29.55 mpg. It was a 93° day and the A/C was running both ways. No attempt was made to hold the car back to 65 mph to improve the mileage. Speeds averaged between 70 and 80 mph.

I own a K&N filter for a 1.4FSI VW Golf of 90bhp/133nm of torque and my fuel consumption has gone better! I usually used 7,5 liters of gasoline to run 100 km! Now I do 7,0 liters per 100km... it cost me 55 eur. but its already paying off... Plus the engine response is better. I probably gained about 2/3 BHP and 5-10 NM...

K&N
I own a Mazda 3s and I was averaging 29 mpg in mixed driving. Then the K&N came in. I popped the hood, pulled out the stock air filter and it was huge!! At least four times thick compared. I now get 31 to 32 mpg, it idles in a deeper tone and I can chirp the tires going into third.
From reading my story, you can tell the engine breathes much better.

99 Ford Ranger...
I bought my daughter a 99 Ford Ranger last year when she turned 16 and found that a 4wd with a 3.0 V6 didn't get all that great gas mileage. I had always heard that a K & N air filter would add horsepower and help on mileage. I can't tell you too much about the horsepower (she wouldn't let me drive it) but the gas mileage went from 16 mpg to 18 mpg. I was impressed enough to get one for my wife's 04 Grand Marquis Mercury and my 93 Ford F150 4wd.
Thank you for a product that performs as claimed!

Gas mileage improvement on my Yamaha Venture
I bought a used 03 Yamaha Venture. the past owner said he was only getting 33 miles to a gallon on the bike. I stopped into a Yamaha dealer and asked if I was buying a gas guzzler? The dealer said put a k&N filter on it. I did and the first time I rode it I got fifty miles to a gallon. Since then I am averaging 45 miles to a gallon. I am going to put a k&N air filter in my pick up and my car.

To who it may concern:
I am a Private Investigator, I usually average 400 miles a week on my Jeep Cherokee. My Jeep is a 6 cyl., in line 4.0 Liter engine. With fuel price on the rise, I have been looking for a ways to save on fuel consumption. A AutoZone sales person recommended your K&N air filer.
I have say, I am impressed, not only I noted the increase on engine performance I also noted an increase of 4 miles per gallon. I can say this, all my vehicles are going to carry K&N products from this day forward.

I own a 2003 Ford Expedition that I purchased new. My son at that time purchased a K&N air filter for it. I have 52,xxx miles on it and thought that with gas prices being what they are I should replace it. While being serviced I told them to put in a new "paper brand name removed" Filter. What a mistake, I lost a strong 3 mpg and on Tuesday I am going back to have my 'dirty' K&N put back in.

Dear K&N,
Wow! I had this installed on my 02 GMC 1/2 ton with a little 327 under the hood. This truck was quick before, now it is pretty darn impressive and the fuel mileage has taken a big increase, with gas prices the way they are I had to find something else to add to my maintenance arsenal to improve fuel economy. I am on my first tank of gas so I can't say what it is just yet, but it is tracking to be very good. I was getting 17.5 to 18 mpg around town and I can't wait to see where it lands.
I hate to say it but I have been pulled over twice in five days. (just warnings, I have to get used to not pressing the throttle as far to keep the truck at the speed limit). Up here most people tow heavy loads and I am telling all my friends that tow horse/stock trailers about this product. This beats the heck out of purchasing a small car to drive around.
p.s. Fast trucks are fun.

The car is pretty quick but had developed a flat spot around the 800 to 1800rpm spot. In an effort to fix it, I purchased one of your replacement air filters (P/N 33-2128). It arrived yesterday and despite the rain, I went out and fitted it straight away, removing the extremely grotty original filter plus general muck and leaves from the air box in the process. And, of course, went out for a test drive to see if it had worked.
So, did it fix the flat spot? Hell, yes! It also enormously improved throttle responsiveness and there was a very noticeable increase in power with much better acceleration. My Bora felt like the sporty diesel it should have been in the first place! I managed to scare myself silly by activating the traction control system in *4th* while accelerating out of a corner. Now, that has *never* happened before!
I definitely recommend fitting one of your filters and only wish I'd done it earlier. Now, how do I claim for soiled underwear ..? :)
Thanks K&N!
P.S. Why aren't your filters fitted as standard equipment?

Great Product!
Hey, my car is a '92 Ford Taurus with a V6 3.8L engine. I've been reading about your filters and your performance gains on the website and seemed a little skeptical. It was time for me to change my disposable air filter again (don't even remember last time it was changed, at least 20k miles), and I decided I'd try this. I bought the K&N Air Filter for my car and replaced it in a matter of minuets, and I'm not really good around cars, and on the drive home, there's a few ups and downs, usually keeping at a steady pace of 45 it drops to about 40 or 35 soon as I hit the hill, so I have to floor it to pick up. Not with this, it stayed at 45 the entire time like the hill was not even there, I was amazed to be honest. As of now my car gets about 16 miles per gallon which is terrible in this day and age with $3.10+ a gallon for regular, I also hope this helps my mileage, I'll report back with how well that does.
Thanks again for this great product!

I have always run K&N filters in my vehicles. I have kicked around the idea of installing an air charger (air intake) on one of my vehicles for a while now. I purchased a 2006 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 with the 4.0L engine. I was hesitant to install an aftermarket product on the engine (only 10,000 miles), but an additional 10+ horsepower was too much to pass up. I ordered the air charger kit from the factory, and installed it yesterday. Taking it out on the highway, I cruised at 70 mph. Prior to the installation this speed usually corresponded to 3000 RPM. Now 70 mph is 2600 RPM. I understand the benefit of the additional fuel mileage that this product can provide. However, I fear that I will never realize this savings as I can't stop "hot rodding" it everywhere I go. The extra power, the very noticeable roar of the extra air being sucked into the engine when you get around 4000 RPM, and the smile that I can't get rid of are well worth the purchase price to me. Maybe one day when I am older I will get some gas mileage improvement, but not any time soon.
Thanks for a great product. You have a customer for life.

05 PT Cruiser Convertible Turbo
I installed a K&N air filter on my 05 PT Cruiser Turbo and am very pleased with the results. It feels like it is breathing better. There is a hill I have to go up on my way home from work and prior to installing the K&N I usually had to give RT (that's the name of my Cruiser) a little extra gas to keep up to speed. Not needed now. It doesn't "growl" which I like, I prefer to be the silent surprise on the road. Thanks for making such a great product. I'll let you know how the mileage is affected. I'll be getting the FIPK for my 04 Dodge Neon SXT very soon. Great product, easy install, results speak for themselves.
Thanks
UPDATE May 29, 2007:
Hello Again,
I wanted to update you on the K&N Filter for my 05 PT Cruiser Convertible. I have gone through the first tank of gas and when I filled up I had a solid 25 mpg with mostly in-town driving. I was getting between 20 - 22 mpg in-town before the K&N. 25 mpg only happened on the highway previously, so I was extremely happy to get 25mpg with mostly in-town driving. Thanks again for the quality product.
Sincerely,

K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit Gen2 Air Intake Kit Review
I installed the K&N 57-3514 Fuel Injection Performance Kit Gen2 Air Intake Kit on my Honda S2000 2.0 L 2003. I feel the performance improvement from the 1,000 RPMS to 9,000 RPMS specially when the VTEC kicks in at 6,500 RPMS. The performance its great and I get a nice racing sound. All the kit parts fit perfectly on the Honda S2000. The tube of the kit is made of a non metallic special material that helps to get a cooler air intake than a kit with a metallic tube.
A K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit Gen2 Air Intake Kit needs to be the first performance mod for a sport car.

Hi-
I just installed the FIPK kit in my 2006 Dodge Charger 5.7l Hemi. Easy to install and instant gratification!!! I noticed a 3-4 MPG gain on my city driving. When my stock kit was installed there was a slight hesitation when accelerating. With the K&N intake installed I get a faster response when I step on the gas. And lastly my engine growls and scares people off the sidewalk!!!
Money well spent!
Thanks
