Naylor earned the maximum number of points at Indy in a special K&N race-within-a-race bonus program for the top Pro Stock drivers in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. The K&N Horsepower Challenge Race will be held at the 2008 Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. The top eight drivers will be determined by points earned at NHRA drag racing events which began at the 2007 event in Norwalk.

“I’m currently at 8th in points in the K&N Horsepower Challenge,” said Naylor. “I just go out there every week and do the best I can. At Indy I walked from the starting line to the finish line and shook hands with as many people in the stands as I could. The fans paid a lot of money to be out there and sat in the heat all day. I wanted to shake their hands and thank as many of them as I could for their support.”

Naylor has been racing for 49 years. The Pennsylvania resident owned a drag strip for 18 years. “I raced karts, Competition Eliminator, and Limited but always wanted to go Pro Stock,” he said. “I sold my drag strip and started racing Pro Stock full time two years ago. Drag Racing is a great sport.”

Pro Stock drivers who accumulate the most points in qualifying during the 23 race K&N Horsepower Challenge Series have a chance to earn $50,000. The runner-up earns $10,000, the two semifinalists earn $3,000 each and the four first-round finishers will receive $2,500 each.
