Heather won the bogie race during the second round of time shots. "I had the best bogie (the combined time of the reaction time and the dial in) package for the 16-17 year old group, as well as overall," said Heather Bell. "My package included a .010- reaction time and I ran a 7.925 on a 7.92 dial." A perfect light is .000; Bell had .010, only ten-thousandths of a second away from a perfect reaction time.

Heather and Allison Bell use K&N performance products. "The K&N Air Filters on the dragsters work great," said Rick Bell, Heather and Allison's father. "Our engines are very expensive and K&N protects our investments."

The Bell sisters also attended the Toyo Tires Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania to help the U.S. Army Team promote its Youth Education Services. "We also had the opportunity to tour the ESPN broadcasting trailers with past NHRA professional driver Mike Dunn," said Heather Bell. "We learned a lot about the business of racing."

The Bell family also plans to purchase a 1969 front engine dragster for part of the nostalgia circuit and car shows. "We will also continue to race for points at Maple Grove Raceway," said Heather Bell. "My goal is to start running 8.50s."
