NHRA Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis Begins This Week

The Mac Tools U.S. Nationals get underway this week at Indianapolis and racers are looking for a win at the most prestigious national NHRA event of the year. In the sport of drag racing it’s one-on-one and winner take all. As far as drag racers are concerned the so called Big-Go is the equivalent of winning the Indy 500.

On the playing field K&N Engineering has several racers competing in all classes from Competition Eliminator to Super Gas.

In Competition Eliminator David Rampy, Larry Pritchett, Brad Zaskowski, Brian Browell, Greg Kamplain and Dough Lambeck will be displaying K&N logos and using K&N Engineering products.

In Super Stock Peter Biondo, Brad Zaskowski, Slate Cummings, Mark Faul, Kevin Helms and Charles Forbes will also represent K&N Engineering.

In Stock Eliminator look for K&N's Dan Fletcher, David Rampy, Peter Biondo, Kevin Helms, Doug Lambeck, Charles Ingram, Shane Carr, David Forbes, Charles Forbes, Larry Cummings and Mark Faul.

K&N’s Vice Present of Research and Development Steve Williams will race in Super Comp along with Ron Erks, Shane Carr, Ray Connolly, Thomas Bayer, Shawn Langdon, Lindsey Wood, Greg Kamplain, Slate Cummings, Tracy Dennis, Bob Fuller and Greg Boutte.

Williams will also run in Super Gas with Ron Erks, Ray Connolly, Thomas Bayer, Mike Ferderer, Dan Fletcher, Tracy Dennis and Bob Fuller.

At NHRA events there are usual fields of 120 or less racers in each event. At Indy the numbers of competitors is more than double in many fields.

Spectator gates open Wednesday and Sportsman qualifying gets underway. On Monday the Final Eliminations take place at the end of the six day event. A boost at Indy will give drivers big checks and bragging rights at the end of the day on Monday.
