NHRA Junior Dragster is 2007 Western Conference Finals Champion
Rochelle Pappel is the 12-years-old driver of a 1998 Mike Bos Chrome Molly Chassis Junior Dragster with a Stage 6 Blockzilla engine. She is also a winner.
Pappel Racing uses K&N Engineering Products
On August 11th Rochelle hit a perfect light .000 in qualifying. She earned the number one qualifying position in the Junior Dragster Class at Coos Bay Speedway in Oregon. With that Rochelle landed a spot in the finals.
The next day, at the Annual NHRA Junior Drag Race League Challenge, Rochelle drove in the Lightning Class. “The Junior dragsters are split into two classes,” said Rochelle’s father Ron Pappel. “She ran the faster of the classes.” Rochelle won the final along with the prestigious NHRA JRDL Crystal Award.
Rochelle is also the 2007 NHRA Western Conference Finals champion in the 12-year-old class. Nearly 600 of the top Junior Dragsters in the country go to Bandimere Speedway in Oregon once a year to compete for a Wally and a National Title.
“We use K&N Engineering Products,” said Pappel. “We count on K&N Air Filters to increase our horsepower.”
Rochelle started racing when she was only 8-years-old. “She is very competitive in everything she does,” said Pappel. “My daughter has been extremely consistent lately. We had big wins in Denver, Woodburn and Coos Bay.”
On August 18 Pappel Racing will be at Woodburn Drag Strip for the VP Racing Series.
