The Australian racer left the Czech capital after the race to have surgery in the United Kingdom. The operation on Crump’s left knee was successful and doctors say his recovery his extremely positive. Crump has been given the all clear to continue racing.

“I was a bit worried that this operation might have seen me sitting out the rest of the season,” said Crump. “The doctors advised me that they would try and repair the damage with keyhole surgery first, and if that did not work a more complicated operation would be required. Fortunately everything worked out.”

This season has been one of the toughest World Speedway on record. Racers face 11 rounds plus a new points system making it the hardest fought World Championship since the introduction of the Grand Prix series in 1995. In the new points structure every race counts toward your points tally.

Crump said he is mentally prepared for the action. “I’m just glad my knee is fixed,” he said. “But the doctors have told me to take it easy for a while. But how does a racer take it easy? I know I have a tough job ahead of me for the rest of the season but I won’t lie down. I’ll keep fighting until the end.”

Crump uses K&N Engineering products. “As usual, I will be using K&N Filters on all my bikes,” he said. “I have 15 bikes in my stable for the British, Polish and Swedish league racing and World Championship Grand Prix. K&N has been a long time supporter. Speedway is dirt track racing so having the right filter is paramount. K&N Air Filters provide constant airflow for maximum engine performance. K&N delivers ever time.”

Crump is currently 7th place overall in the 2007 Grand Prix Series.
