Anderson earned $3,000 from K&N for being the number one qualifier at Sonoma along with points toward qualification for the 2008 K&N Horsepower Challenge, a special race-within-a-race bonus program for the top Pro Stock drivers in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. The K&N Horsepower Challenge race will be held at the 2008 Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. The top eight drivers will be determined by points earned at NHRA drag racing events which began at the 2007 event in Norwalk.

Pro Stock drivers who accumulate the most points in qualifying during the 23-race challenge series have a chance to earn $50,000. The runner-up earns $10,000, the two-semifinalists earn $3,000 each and the four first-round finishers will receive $2,500 each.

“K&N Engineering makes of great line of air filters,” said Anderson. “The K&N intake scoop and air filter combination is a vital part of the Pro Stock Category. Getting air to the engine is an advantage and a huge part of this class.”

K&N is in a class of its own when it comes to hood scoops. The unique aspect of the scoop is that it is designed for use with a K&N High-Flow Air Filter. K&N is proving with its patented design that K&N Air Filters can actually increase horsepower on race cars that previously used no air filter at all.

Anderson heads to the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals on August 9-12 at Brainerd, Minnesota.
