K&N Horsepower Challenge Rewards Top Qualifier at Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals
Allen Johnson captured his first race of the season at Bandimere Speedway at the
Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals. He also won points toward qualification for the K&N Horsepower Challenge, a
special race-within-a-race bonus program for the top Pro Stock drivers in the
NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.
Johnson ran well all weekend long in Denver, Colorado. “It was a fairy
tale weekend,” said Johnson. “This was a Mopar event and we were the fastest car
and No. 1 qualifier. We’ve been a win waiting to happen since the first of the
year and just hadn’t gotten a break.” It had been thirteen years since a Mopar
had won Pro Stock at an event they sponsored.
