“We want to win everything and this feels awesome,” said Schatz, after his first career Kings Royal win. “It’s the Kings Royal. The one race that we hadn’t been able to figure out, but we got the job done. No one said winning $50,000 was supposed to be easy and it took quite a few years to do it here. We just went back to our basic setup and it was game on.”

The six heat races at the Kings Royal can make or break a driver’s night. The Fargo, North Dakota racer qualified 24th out of 51 cars. He was able to win the sixth heat race and put the No.15 with K&N products on the pole for the five lap Crane Cams Dash. Schatz's victory in that event put him on the pole for the 40-lap event.

At the drop of the green, Schatz raced side-by-side with Jason Solwold, but Craig Dollansky passed them both to take control of the feature event. Schatz worked the middle groove and made his move for the lead on lap six. He quickly distanced himself from the rest of the field. By lap 15, he had a six second advantage.

There was a caution on lap 22, but Schatz was able to collect his 10th victory of the season and 79th career World of Outlaws Feature win.

"It was a great night for all of us,” said Bill Klingbeil for Donny Schatz. “Any time you win a big race, everything has to be working at its best. The K&N airbox allowed us to keep clean air going through our engine producing more than enough horsepower for us to win."

Schatz next race will be the Don Martin Memorial at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania.
