NHRA Northwest Top Alcohol Dragster Points Leader Uses K&N
Tom Bayer, Steve and Patty Federlin and his Toyo Tires Top Alcohol Dragster Team are in the running for the 2007 NHRA Northwest Division championship. Bayer is leaving tonight for the Lucas Oil Divisional event at Pacific Raceways in Seattle, Washington from June 15 -17.
Tom Bayer won his first Top Alcohol Dragster event title at Mission Raceway Park
The team had all the right moves with winning round times of 5.370 seconds, 5.355 and 5.330 in the final at Mission Raceway Park in British Columbia, Canada. Bayer out ran local favorite Shawn Cowie of Richmond, British Columbia.
“Steve had a good tune-up for the track,” said Bayer. “Steve and Patty did a great job with the car. My job is to do a good job driving. I know Steve will have the car ready to make a good run. I’ve got to give 110 percent every time I get into that car. We all did our job at Mission Raceway and left with the Wally.”
The team also made an unscheduled stop at Topeka Raceway Park for the O’Reilly Summer Nationals, where Bayer qualified third and went to the semifinals before losing to Jim Whiteley.
“I use K&N Engineering products,” said Bayer. “The K&N Air Filter on my top alcohol dragster catches the dust and keeps my clutch clean. I also drive the Team Lucas Oil/Toyo Tires/K&N Filters Super Comp Dragster and the Team Lucas Oil Toyo Tires/K&N Filters Super Gas Corvette. K&N Oil Filters have a lot of media and keep the dirt and debris out of my engines.”
Bayer is currently number one in NHRA Northwest (Division 6) Top Alcohol Dragster point standings and 14 nationwide. He is also the 2007 NHRA Lucas Oil Super Gas Champion at Phoenix, Arizona and the 2006 NHRA Lucas Oil Pacific Division Super Comp Champion.
