In Indiana, Saunders competed in the 14-24 class and the 125cc Youth Classes. He was out powered by the 450cc bikes in the 14-24 class but took a respectable 7th place in the first moto. As soon as he entered the playing field in the 125cc Youth class, the Hoosier native blasted from the gate, took the lead and both moto wins. The next day Saunders consistent performance took top overall honors along with a repeat win in the 125cc Youth division.

Saunders has been competing on two-wheels and landing jumps since he was only 5-years-old. He has used K&N Products since he started racing and continues to use them on his Suzuki. “By using K&N Filters we notice better performance,” said Eric’s father Irish Saunders. “We also get more life out of the motors.”

The Tony Stewart/ Eric Saunders Racing MX Team races during the American Motorcycle Association season in three different divisions. Saunders continues to square off against some of the brightest young talent in his age group by running his Suzuki Racing machines in the 85cc, 112cc Supermini and the 125cc Youth classes across the Midwest.

“We are going to ride in three different divisions this year,” said Saunders. “I am at an age that allows options and it will just give me more experience. It’s all about racing as much as possible so I can continue to improve.”

The talented racer who is too young to own a driver’s license has also captured a reserve spot in the prestigious “Ponca City Grand National” event later this fall. He was also first in the 125cc Youth Division at the Loretta Lynn Regional in Millville, Minnesota. Saunders next race is at Bloomingdale, Missouri on June 16.
