In Division 1, Andy Grant’s vehicle blew a head gasket and his day ended almost before it began. His Escort was left standing in a pool of water in the pits. Mad Mark also had problems with his Citroen Xsara. The Barnard Castle driver missed the opening round of the heat races. Eventually they solved the problems and Mark went on to set the fastest time in the third round of heats to secure a place in the final. In the main Mad Mark took second place and Chris Langley took first.

In the Super National, Jamie Lea and Gary Dixon battled hard on the field. Lea moved into the lead for first and Dixon came in second. Russell Simpson extended his championship lead in the Junior Rallycross with his second win of the year, followed by Matthew Thompson and Christopher Anderson.

Round three of the LINGsCARS.com Rallycross Open Championship will take place at Blyton Circuit in Lincolnshire on June 17th.
