Kvapil and No.6 K&N Engineering Team Ready for Action in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
Travis Kvapil believes his No.6 K&N Engineering Team has turned the corner and is ready to compete for race wins in the Craftsman Truck Series. The racer has not had the season he expected.

Coming off a wild Daytona finish, Travis Kvapil finished 16th at California Speedway in his No. 6 K&N Filters Ford F-150. “We started out the season strong at Daytona, coming up just short of the win,” said Kvapil. “The next week we were off to Fontana, and we really struggled. It was the same in Atlanta. Ford gave us a new nose for 2007, and we struggled to get adjusted to it. The guys tried to keep the trucks similar to what they had body wise last year, and it threw off the balance of them. After Atlanta, we knew we had to do something to fix our intermediate track program. Jack Roush came to the shop and we all sat in on a meeting to make some changes. We tried different things with our Kansas truck, and it was obviously a step in the right direction.”

Kvapil had a strong truck at Kansas. He qualified fourth and ran inside the top-five for much of the early stages of the race. However, a speeding penalty on pit road took Kvapil out of contention for the win.
“I felt terrible at Kansas,” said Kvapil. “It was unfortunate that we didn’t get the finish we deserved, but we showed that we’ve got our trucks back to where they need to be, and we expect to be contending for wins on a consistent basis.”
Kvapil and the No.6 K&N Filters Team sit ninth in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point standings. The next race will be at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Atlanta on May 18th.
