“This will be my 2nd year with K&N Engineering as a sponsor,” said Cody. “K&N was an integral part of all my success in 2006. We won the California State Championship in the Yamaha F200 class in karting. We also finished 5th at the IKF Grand Nationals in the HPV4 and HPV3 class. All of that success was with K&N’s Kart Air Box and Air Filter.” In the Yamaha F200 class K&N is the spec filter.

Currently Cody’s family is refurbishing a Stealth Ford Focus midget for the USAC Focus Series. “My son was invited by Tim Crawford of Speed Wong Racing to Irwindale,” said Kirk Swanson. “They were testing two Super late models and the new Late model in preparation for the season opener on the 24th. This is the same team that Cody drove the Legend car for at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. My son will not be racing in the next round of the Gatorz cup because we will be at opening night of the Late model series at Irwindale.”

Cody also participated with K&N Racing in a Ford Focus Midget test at Irwindale Speedway. “I look forward to continued success this year as I race in the Gatorz Cup, Champ Car Rotax Max Series in the Rotax International Class,” said Cody. “I will also be running races for Speed Wong racing in the Legends Car class and for our own Swanson Motorsports Team in the USAC Ford Focus Series at select events though the year. K&N will be my filter of choice in the legend car and our Ford Focus.”

Cody’s father works for K&N Engineering. “K&N is in the evaluation process to see if Cody has the ability to move into the midget class,” said Steve Williams, Vice President of Product Development and Engineering. “At the same time we are able to support one of our Research and Development guys in his racing efforts.”
