2015 RENAULT LATITUDE Air Filter

The K&N 33-2793 replacement air filter includes multiple layers of cotton gauze media that has been treated with a special grade of filter oil that is so tacky it captures and holds impurities that could damage the engine of your car.

French automobile manufacturer Renault has made a wide variety of vehicles during the 2000s that include the Renault Laguna and Renault Latitude.

The Laguna was first unveiled in 1994 as a replacement for the Renault 21 and survived for three generations during a period of 21 years. Considered to be a large family car for European standards when introduced, the first Laguna was available in two body styles –- a 5-door hatchback and a 5-door station wagon.

During its first generation from 1994 through 2001 nine multi-point fuel injection gasoline engines and four diesel engines (two direct injection and two indirect injection) powered the vehicle. There were four I4 DOHC, three I4 SOHC, one V6 SOHC, and a V6 DOHC gasoline engines and four I4 SOHC diesel engines.  The gasoline engines included four 16-valve, three 8-valve, a 12-valve and a 24-valve. The diesel engines included two 8-valve and two 12-valve. Horsepower on the gasoline engines ranged from 106 at 5750 RPM to 187-horsepower at 5750 RPM and 97-horsepower at 4000 RPM to 111-horsepower at 4300 RPM on the diesel variants.

Power steering, electric front windows, and remote central locking were standard and a CD player was first an option, but became standard.

The second generation Laguna debuted in December 2000 and was available through 2007. It shared its chassis with the Nissan Primera, which was introduced the following year. The engine was improved and more equipment was offered as standard. It was the first vehicle in Europe to receive five stars in the EuroNCAP crash test. It came in two styles –- a hatchback and station wagon.  The station wagon included five seats and marketed as a lifestyle vehicle instead of a load carrier.

Drivers used a credit card like device to unlock the door and start the engine. The car went through a refreshing in March 2005 to improve security, driving performance, and comfort.

The third generation Laguna was introduced in October 2007 and came in three styles –- a five-door hatchback, a five-door station wagon, and a three-door coupe. Four gasoline engines and three diesel engines were available to power the vehicle. The gasoline engines included a 1.6-liter I4 16-valve, 2.0, I4 16-valve, a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 16-valve, and a 3.5-liter V6 24-valve. The diesel engines included a 1.5 dCi I4 eight-valve, a 2.0 dCi I4 16-valve, and a 3.0 dCi V6 24-valve. Two transmissions were available –- a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.  Its platform was shared with the Nissan Altima, the Nissan Teana, and the Nissan Murano.

The car was refreshed in 2010 and it was available in six trim levels –- Expression, Black Edition, Eco Business, Bose, GT 4Control, and Initiale. In addition, an engine with improved CO2 emissions was also introduced to power it. The Laguna was discontinued and replaced with the Renault Talisman in 2015.

The Renault Latitude debuted at the end of August 2010 at the Moscow International Automobile Salon as the successor to the Renault Vel Satis. Referred to as an executive car, which is somewhat larger than a large family car, it came in one style –- a 4-door sedan.

Three gasoline engines powered the vehicle:

  • 122-cubic inch DOHC I4 that generated 140-PS at 6000 RPM and 194 N-m of torque at 3750 RPM. It achieved 0-60 mph in 10.7 seconds and had a top speed of 121 mph.
  • 152-cubic inch DOHC V6 that delivered 180-PS at 6000 RPM and 235-N-m of torque at 4400 RPM. It achieved 0-60 mph in 9.3-seconds and had a top speed of 129 mph.
  • 213-cubic inch DOHC V6 that supplied 240-PS at 6000 RPM and 330- N-m of torque at 4200. It achieved 0-60 mph in 6.4-seconds and had a top speed of 155 mph.

The three diesel engines included:

  • 122-cubic inch DOHC I4 that generated 150-PS at 4000 RPM and 340 N-m at 2000 RPM. It reached 0-60 mph in 10.3 seconds and had a top speed of 129 mph.
  • 122-cubic inch DOHC I4 that delivered 175-PS at 3750 RPM and 360 N-m of torque at 2000 RPM. It raced 0 to 60 mph in 9.9-seconds and had a top speed of 127 mph.
  • 183-cubic inch DOHC V6 that provided 240-PS at 3750 RPM and 450 N-m of torque at 1500 RPM. It ran 0-60 mph in 7.6-seconds and had a top speed of 146 mph

The K&N 33-2793 replacement air filter is designed to protect the engines of both the Renault Latitude and Laguna. The air filter will increase the engine horsepower and acceleration and provides high airflow with superior filtration. Designed to fit into the existing factory air box, the filter works with original equipment manufacturer’s vehicle electronics and will not void the vehicle warranty

The air filter is washable and reusable. It will last for 50,000 miles between cleanings and K&N guarantees it to perform up to 10 years or 1,000,000 miles under its Million Mile Limited Warranty®.

The air filter can last that long because of its innovative design. Paper air filters must be thick and/or the fibers must be tightly compressed and dense. However, this design restricts airflow. Moreover, as a paper filter becomes clogged, its pressure drops while outside air pressure remains the same so airflow is adversely affected. Moreover, particles that are larger than the openings in the filter media are trapped, but particles that are smaller than the openings pass through to the engine.

K&N air filters are designed differently. They feature four layers of cotton gauze that have been treated with a special grade of filter oil. The oil makes the strands of the cotton media so tacky it catches and holds on to the particles.

K&N also offers air filter cleaning kits that are formulated to clean a used K&N air filter and recharge it so that it can perform for another 50,000 miles. The air filter can be used and cleaned and used again. It may be the last air filter you will ever have to buy for your car.

K&N tests its air filters regularly for filtration efficiency. The tests show that the filter achieves an overall efficiency range of 96% to 99%.

The K&N 33-2793 replacement air filter can be used on the following vehicles:
