Harris has four National event wins. His most recent win was Super Gas at the NHRA POWERade Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Sixth annual ACDelco Nationals at Las Vegas.

“Everything worked just right at Las Vegas,” said Harris. “I drove my 2000 convertible Chevy Corvette built by Gary Hansen Race cars. My times were on that day.”

At the 47th annual CARQUEST Auto Parts Winternationals Harris will drive a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am owned by Les and Jeanette Harris of Aguana, California.

“My uncle Les didn’t have enough grade points to enter his cars,” said Harris. “He asked if I wanted to drive Maui Style. It’s a top quality vehicle and powerful. It was also built by Gary Hansen and the motor makes 1165 horsepower with 900 foot pounds of torque.”

The paint job is unique on the Harris’ Grand Am. “It looks like a rainbow,” said Harris. “My aunt and uncle lived on Maui and the color of the car reflects their love for the islands.”

Harris said he hopes to get good numbers during time trials which start Thursday in Pomona. “I appreciate the opportunity to be an ambassador for K&N,” said Harris. “I’ll wear my K&N fire suit and K&N helmet and do my best to represent K&N on and off the track.”
