Craig Middleton and co-driver Robin Hernaman clinched the lead at Park Systems
National Rally in Scotland. It was round six of the ANCRO-organized MSA Gravel
Rally Championship run.
Middleton’s Hyundai Accent WRC finished 44 seconds ahead of series leaders Roger
Duckworth and Mark Broomfield. “We had a problem on the rear end on the final
stage,” said Middleton. “I think it is a damper problem. I tried to save the car
and cooked the brakes in the process.”

Despite this problem the Welshman went on to take a further twenty-one seconds
from Duckworth and crossed the finish line in first place. Middleton claimed
maximum championship points for the third time this season.
“The team uses K&N Engineering Filters,” said Craig’s father, Graham Middleton.
“K&N gives the best protection under any conditions. This is vital when you are
running an expensive engine such as the WRC Hyundai.”
The overall standings after round six show Roger Duckworth leading the
championship at 106 points. Middleton holds second place at 97 points. At this
time it is still anyone’s title going into the final round October 21st at The
Bulldog Rally at Oswestry in the Welsh Marches.
