Matt Scranton is NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Career Wins Leader
Matt Scranton defeated Gary White at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and is now the leader in career wins of the NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Racing Series.
Scranton overcame the heat at the Las Vegas NHRA Sport Compact Nationals to take the second win of the season. Scranton drove to the finish line with a time of 6.91 seconds at 204.26 mph to White’s 7.33 seconds at 159.06 mph.
The Land O’ Lakes, Floridian is the first sport compact/import drag racer to break the 200-mph barrier and also has a Pro RWD best-ever run at Atco, New Jersey in 2006 with an elapsed time of 6.51seconds at 0218.35.
Scranton uses K&N Engineering Filters on his Toyota. “K&N makes great filters. There is no leaking at all, even at 200 mph,” said Scranton. “We cut the oil filters apart to see what is going on inside the engine. I wish everyone could see what we see after a race with a K&N Filter. Before we found K&N Air Filters we used foam filters and they used to break apart and get into our engines.
keep the dirt and debris out of our engines.”
