K&N Expands Generation II Fuel Injection Performance Kit (FIPK®) Intake System Applications
RIVERSIDE, CA - In response to overwhelming demand, K&N Engineering continues to expand its line of Generation II Fuel Injection Performance Kits (FIPK®). These high-flow intake systems replace the restrictive OE factory air cleaner assemblies. By virtually eliminating the stock intake's airflow restrictions, each FIPK® is able to provide a significant boost in power, torque and throttle response.
Increased FIPK® flow begins with a K&N FilterCharger® air filter. Performance enthusiasts are familiar with the washable and reusable air filter, which is backed by the K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty™ and can be cleaned and re-oiled with a K&N recharger kit. Linking the FilterCharger® to the throttle body is a K&N intake tube, which typically flows more air than a straight tube thanks to a specially designed plenum. On vehicles equipped with a mass-airflow sensor, K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kits include required adapters. Most Gen II FIPK® systems include a powder-coated sheetmetal heatshield to keep the incoming air as cool as possible. The intake tube itself also helps isolate incoming air from underhood heat, both through its routing path and its heat-dissipating material. This K&N technology delivers an increase of more than 20 horsepower at the drivewheels in some applications. Also, torque is increased throughout the rpm range for improved towing.
All K&N FIPK® systems are 50-state emissions legal and are compatible with all OE computer and emissions controls. Currently, kits are available for most popular trucks and SUVs, many later-model sports cars and certain sport-compacts; new applications are constantly being developed (see the K&N website at www.knfilters.com™ for the latest applications).
