World of Outlaws point leader Donny Schatz will return to action Friday night at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana for the City of Lawrenceburg Sprint Nationals. He will be joined by the rest of the MEAN 15 at the speedway.

Schatz will be driving his No.15 ParkerStore J&J with Shaver power. Schatz and the ParkerStore team use the K&N Engineering Sprint Car Airbox. Schatz said they get maximum airflow with K&N for the highest performance. He will be chasing his eight “A” Feature win of the season on the semi-banked, quarter-mile oval.

“Lawrenceburg is a place that takes some getting used to, but I feel like we got the team in place to put us in a good position on Friday night,” said Schatz. “We’ve been there three times and it’s been either really good or really bad. It’s a racy place with no walls so you’ve got to be careful not to drive over the edge. We’re really looking forward to it and hoping this is one of those times we’re really good.”

This will be the second consecutive race on a smaller track following last Monday’s race at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota. Schatz bounced back from a tough qualifying run which put him 17th out of 29 cars in the field. He finished 6th in the 30-lap feature. Schatz has finished inside the top seven in a string of consecutive finishes that began on May 20th. In that 15-race stretch, Schatz has four wins and 12 finishes inside the top three.

“Our goal at Lawrenceburg is to start the night as the fastest qualifier,” said Schatz. “If you can make the best lap, it’s a pretty good indication that you’ve got your car where you need it.”

Following Friday’s race the ParkerStore team will join the rest of the World of Outlaws for Saturday’s race at I-55 Raceway just south of St. Louis.
