well that was so last week. Whitt's defining moments keep redefining at a blistering rate so try and keep up. The Red Bull rookie now leads the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, becoming the first rookie, and at age 19, the youngest driver ever to lead that series.

By any standards, NASCAR is a tough nut to crack, so after Whitt missed the field in Camping World Truck Series Daytona qualifying, yet managed to find another ride, some went all sour- grapes about his NASCAR ladder climbing technique.

So, in what might be interpreted as a "how you like me now" defining moment, this past weekend in Charlotte, Whitt finished third behind Sprint Cup Series regulars Kyle Busch and Clint Bowyer. With yet another strong finish Whitt has now positioned himself with a one point lead over Johnny Sauter.

Whitt told K&N Race News, "I would say our team has just been getting faster and faster with time. Learning with, and from each other, and dialing in the trucks. It's been a great progression."
Whitt describes his driving style pretty smooth and laid-back.

Whitt credits having great parents for why he's been able to stay grounded and focused, making it clear that they taught him how to act and carry himself. "I stay disciplined from having good morals growing up, and having good people around me in racing. I just stay humble, because you never know when this could all come to an end," he adds. "So right now I am enjoying the ride."

In describing his driving style Whitt confesses, "I think I'm a pretty smooth, laid-back, driver that can get up on the wheel when its go time. It's being able to know when to go is the hard part. I try to figure out how to race to the end."

The K&N sponsored driver says he will continue to remain focused on the moment, taking it one day and one race at a time. Making it to the Sprint Cup Series has long been his goal, since first dreaming of becoming a racecar driver and now the second part of that dream, being successful when he got there, is on the fast track to fulfillment.
