Indy 500 Week is Huge for K&N Engineering, Inc.
K&N Engineering, Inc., the world’s leader in performance filter technology since
1969, is the Official Air Filter used by the IRL IndyCar Series. Every car
running in the Indianapolis 500 is equipped with a K&N filter.
“On Race Day, K&N also sponsored a $10,000 Leader at the Half Contingency
Award. Tony Kanaan won as the first eligible position running a K&N sticker at
the half during the Indianapolis 500.

Kanaan competed against Michael Andretti, Victor Meira, Buddy Lazier, Bryan
Herta, Scott Sharp, Buddy Rice, Danica Patrick, Jeff Simmons, Thiago Medeiros,
Marco Andretti, Dario Franchitti, Al Unser Jr., Eddie Cheever Jr., Max Pappis,
Kosuke Matsuura, P.J. Chesson and Jeff Bucknum for the K&N award.
The USAC Silver Crown Series sponsored by K&N is a big part of Indy 500 week,
said K&N Sports Marketing Director Charles Maier. On May 26th the USAC Hoosier
Hundred took place at Indiana State Fairgrounds. The other race in the series
was the USAC Night Before the 500 at Indianapolis Raceway Park National Midget
Car Series Asphalt Race 30 Lap Feature.
“The Indy 500 is a very special event for us,” said Maier.
