Chris Steele Racing Gets the Edge in First FASTRAK Racing Series
In his first FASTRAK Racing Series race this season Chris Steel qualified 2nd at Antioch Speedway in Morganton, North Carolina.

In his 2004 GRT, Steele started on the outside of the front row and took the lead into turn one. Things changed after Lee Cooper was involved in a turn one mangle with the 3rd place qualifier. This changed the entire starting grid due to FASTRAK rules, which state the fastest qualifier on the track must start from the inside pole.
Cooper was in the pits due to a left front flat and this meant Steel had to start inside the pole of the half-mile dirt oval. Steele was able to beat the outside pole starter on the second start and lead the entire 50 lap main event. “This is one of the biggest wins for our team yet,” said Steele. “It is a tough division because everyone has the same sealed GM crate engine.”
Steele said the team had an edge because his car is equipped with K&N Engineering oil and air filters. “The K&N filter gave us extra horsepower and gave us an edge over our competitors,” Steele said. “That’s a big deal, and I have a first win with a touring series.”
