Mike Kekich Racing's New Goal is World of Outlaws
Dirt track racing is a tradition in the Kekich family. Mike Kekich's father Paul "Putzy" Kekich raced modifieds and sprints from 1962 until 1981. In his day he battled racers Lou Blaney, Ralph Quarterson, Buddy Cochran and Bill Banick. Now Paul helps Mike with Kekich Racing.

Mike's brother Doug raced Micro Sprints for 5 years, and his sister Lori runs The New Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. Mike's son Adam started out in dirt go-karts at 9, three years later the 12-year-old is competing against 15-year-olds in an older class. "My son wants to wheel a sprint car one day," said Mike. Adam wants to race like his father, grandfather and uncles.
Mike Kekich is after his second championship in 2006. He ran his 5K 410 Sprint Car in 2002 at New Sharon Speedway Sprint Car Points/Track Champion with two feature wins and all top five finishes with the exception of one 6th place finish. The Hermitage Pennsylvania resident credits his sponsors and team for his consistent performance. He said his team takes maintenance very seriously.

Mike Kekich has used K&N Engineering oil and air filters for years. "I do all the work on my cars and I would not use any other filter besides a K&N filter," said Kekich. "I love racing on dirt and K&N filters keep my engine clean."
In a few months Mike Kekich will participate in the World of Outlaws. "It's exciting to race what I consider to be a rocket ship on wheels and compete with the best of the best," said Mike.
