Topless 100 Late Dirt Model Series paid $40,000 in Locust Grove, Arkansas
Cook posted the sixth fastest lap time in his No. 53 MasterSbilt Race Car with K&N products during the qualifying session. He went on to finish fourth in his competitive heat race. “Our K&N filters protect our engines in this type of dirt racing,” said Cook. “We count on great filtration and additional horsepower for our engines with K&N.”
K&N supported racer Ray Cook will compete for $10,000 at The Taz, or Tazewell Speedway in Tennessee
The Brasstown, North Carolina driver ran second in his B-Main event and started off from the outside of the eleventh row in the 100 lap main event. Cook made his way up to the top ten during the Topless 100 but mechanical issues sidelined him with a 23rd place finish.
Cook is currently in sixth place in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series points standings.
The No 53 team has two more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series races in eastern Tennessee. First up is the annual Scorcher 100 at the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee and next is a $20,000 to win event at the Gap or Tazewell Speedway in Tennessee.
