Sprint car driver Jeremy Campbell had one of those races that can replay over and over again in your head for a while. Campbell came within laps of winning his first World of Outlaws (WoO) Feature at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

Campbell began the March night with a top ten qualifying run, and transferred to the “A” from his heat and grabbed a spot in the first dash. Campbell ran away with his first dash win of the season and earned the pole position of the “A” feature, said Jeremy Campbell Motorsports promotions manager Katie Schroeder.

When the green flag dropped Campbell immediately began to pull away from the field. As he got into lap traffic a caution came out. Campbell again pulled away on the restart but after leading for more than half the race he was caught in lap traffic. Donny Schatz took the lead. Schatz came in first, Campbell, after a valiant effort, took second.

“I led the race the whole way and only had six laps to go before Donny shot under me. I was angry and happy at the same time,” said Campbell. “I have to keep reminding myself I finished second, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of.”

The number one and two racers in the World of Outlaws Las Vegas race use K&N Engineering products.

“I use the K&N Sprint Car Airbox,” said Campbell. “It works great during a race.”
Schatz also said the K&N Sprint Car Airbox allows the ParkerStore Team engines to get some of the cleanest air because of the K&N quality.

The bottom line is the Dirt Track at Las Vegas is very fast, and in order to go fast you have to produce a lot of horsepower. “The number one part of racing is you have to have the horsepower to keep up with everything,” said Campbell.

Jeremy Campbell, 22, of Monroe, Michigan has been involved in racing for 12 years. “My dad and I are Jeremy Campbell Motorsports. We have 5 engines, two complete cars and we’re in the process of picking up two more frames,” said Campbell. “We use K&N products on all our vehicles.”

Campbell started out racing 4 Cycle Go Karts then moved onto Shifter Karts and 600 Mini Sprints. “We used K&N oil and air filters for as long as I’ve been racing,” said Campbell. “K&N really keeps the dirt out of our engines.” Campbell’s first win was in 1996 in Go Kart at Greensprings Grand Prix. In 2000, he was 2000 National Sprint car Hall of Fame 360 Rookie of the Year and Sprints on Dirt Rookie of the Year.

“My goal is to win Rookie of the Year at World of Outlaws,” said Campbell. “We’ve got the equipment and we’re more prepared than we’ve ever been.”

Jeremy Campbell captured his career best World of Outlaws finish on March 9th and is now 7th in point standings for the WoO.

His next race is March 31st at Batesville, Arkansas. Donny Schatz will also be there.

“Being second means I can win any night,” said Campbell. “It also means I’m one of the number one guys. I love Dirt Sprint Cars, there is no roller coaster ride that compares to this ride. It’s out of control fun.”
