Add Est. 9HP to 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Commander with 4.7L Engines
The new retro-styled 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Jeep Commander is new from the ground up, but there is no question about its heritage, one look and you know it's a Jeep. K&N Engineering already has an AirCharger Air Intake (63-1548) available for the
4.7L V8 engine.
K&N also has the same system available to its 2007, 2008 and 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee
sibling for the 4.7L V8 engine.
63-1548 Air Intake Kit for the 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Jeep Commander
63-1548 Air Intake Installed in a Jeep Charokee
The K&N 63 Series AirCharger Intake Kit for the Jeep Commander 4.7L V8 F/1 was one of the first on the market for this vehicle. K&N tests have shown a
horsepower gain of 9.47 @ 4397 RPM with the 63-1548 intake.
"The horse power gain is really good for a vehicle that does not have a mass air
sensor," said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. "The engine compartment is
really busy, even though the Commander does not have a lot of open space our
engineers were able to knock out a system that provides good power gains." The
development side of 63-1548 was extensive when it boiled down to the design
work, said Heck.
Our 63 Series kits use a conical shaped High-Flow air filter that we can fit
into the engine compartment. It takes about 40 minutes or less to install this
kit and the K&N air filter performs for up to 100,000 miles before service is
required depending on driving conditions.
