Malcolm Racing returned to competition after missing most of the season after recovering from surgery to repair a ruptured disc. His 1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R was in great shape for the race even though it sat for more than six months.

Malcolm turned a fast lap of 2:05 to place first in class and 16th in a field of 24 cars overall. He finished ahead of all slower class cars and a few upper tier cars. As the field lined up for the pace lap, Malcolm was up to 14th after several cars failed to grid on time. Malcolm uses K&N products. “I can always count on my K&N air and oil filters,” he said. “K&N gives me more horsepower and keeps the dust and dirt out of my engine.”

As the green flag dropped, Malcolm got the jump and pushed several of the faster class cars ahead for position. Unfortunately the motor let go and Malcolm had to coast the car back to the pits. The team finished first in class but 23rd overall.

Malcolm’s next race will be at Buttonwillow Raceway in November.
