Team Jefferies was first off the line in their heat race. Their goal was to drive 22 mile loops as fast as they could over the course of three hours and forty-five minutes. “On lap three we lost the control valve in the steering system, so Mindy had a hard time steering the car,” said Jenna Jefferies. “We made it to our pit where my brother Casey, Mike Rossi and Steve Jangaard fixed the problem. They had us back on the road in less than 30 minutes.”

The desert course was rough and dusty. Team Jefferies uses K&N air and oil filters on all of its vehicles. “With K&N we get the power and protection we need for racing in this kind of environment,” said Jefferies. “The desert is hard on our motors and K&N protects them every time.”

Jefferies and Jefferies finished six laps and raised money and awareness for breast cancer research. “We did really well considering,” said Jenna Jefferies. “We took 9th place out of 19 cars in our unlimited class. It was fun and it was for a good cause. We plan to do it again next year.”
