“It’s huge to win the championship here,” said O’Connell. “My goal this season was to win the championship. I was excited to go into this year with both Jan and Ron to improve on what we’d built in 2007. To win Petit Le Mans together is great.”

Corvette Racing runs a special K&N air filter. “Dirt is a huge problem in races,” said Crew Chief Dan Binks. “K&N protects our engines from debris.”

Corvette Racing’s next event is the season finale of the 2008 American Le Mans Series, the Monterey Sports Car Challenge at Laguna Seca in California on October 18. The four-hour race is scheduled to air on NBC on Sunday October 19.
