K&N’s New Typhoon Intake Produces 10 HP for the 2005 Pontiac GTO 6.0L
The 2005 Pontiac GTO's 6.0-liter V8 is a torque monster that can deliver a good performance package. Wind it up to the 6,500 redline and the dual exhaust belts out a high-pitched wail. If a Pontiac GTO pulls up next to you at a stop light, it deserves some respect. K&N Engineering now gives the GTO more of a boost under the hood, with a 69-Series Typhoon Intake Kit (

K&N intake systems replace your vehicle's restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction allowing more air to your engine. On K&N's in-house Dynojet dynamometer the Typhoon (Part Number
) produced gains of 10 HP. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The K&N 69-Series Intake Kit for the 2005 Pontiac GTO consists of a aerodynamically-designed filter that has a chrome top with the K&N logo stamp. It is 6 inches tall and has a base diameter of 7 1/2 inches.
As with all K&N High-Flow Air Filters, the element included with the
Typhoon Intake Kit
for the GTO is washable and re-usable. K&N recommends cleaning the filter every 100,000 miles (depending on driving conditions).
The Typhoon's polished aluminum finish also looks great and the Short Ram configuration makes this kit easy to install.
