“We were the fastest boat on the track,” said Wicked Racing Team Driver Dan Morrison. “It was truly a situation where we had to go fast or go home.” There were a few tense moments in the Super Modified Class. Morrison had two DNFs (did not finish) in a row in turns 5-14 and the 5-6 corners. “We made it down to the four boat cut,” he said. “We went wide and the back end of the boat hit the ground. We slammed it and made it to the finals by 4/10ths of a second. We were going so fast for the fans their eyeballs couldn’t catch up to the boat.”

Racers and their navigators flew around the super tight infield, hitting the right corners at least 31 times in less than a minute. The No. 10 K&N Wicked Racing Team took first prize in the 2008 points chase and the National Finals Trophy.

Since the first day of the season, Wicked Racing has dominated the series. The final day was the same. Dan Morrison and Cara McGuire took home the trophy.

“Our boat ran flawlessly,” said Morrison. “K&N filters are part of our winning consistency. We will continue to use them next season. Our competitors are paying attention to our filters and now a lot of people are using K&N filters.”

The Wicked Racing Team will be back in 2009 and plan to take the sport to a new level.
