Rally Driver Andrew Comrie-Picard (ACP) and the NOS Energy Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX with K&N Filters will compete at the Rallye Defi after a spectacular X Games performance. The event takes place on rural roads within commuting distance of Montreal, Canada. It taxes team endurance with long technical stages.

“I enjoy the challenge at this event,” said Comrie-Picard. “It’s an incredible feeling when you get into a rhythm on the longer stages. The miles fly by.”

The team worked hard to bring the Evo back to fighting form after its front-flip crash last month in California. “Rally cars can take a lot of abuse,” said Comrie-Picard. “It was definitely a big hit, but at the X Games you’ve got to win or crash big.”

Repairs on the Evo included a roof replacement, new windshield and a coat of paint. The top-spec vehicle’s sophisticated mechanical components were in good shape after the incident. Neither driver nor co-driver Jen Horsey was injured in the crash.

Comrie-Picard is running a busy 2008 season with events on both sides of the Canadian-United States border. He will also race at the seventh annual Targa Newfoundland. It is a week-long endurance event on the Canadian Maritime Island from September 13-20.

ACP is a contender for the American, Canadian and North American Rally Championships. He is also one of a handful of drivers to compete at the X Games Rally in each of the three years since it was introduced to the contest.
