Two-Time King of California Takes K&N Filters No. 0 Down Victory Lane
K&N Engineering sponsored Sprint Car racer Jonathan Allard captured his second King of California Title in the K&N Filters No. 0 at the Silver Dollar Speedway. With this championship title Allard now join’s Brent Kaeding and Steve Kent as the only drivers with multiple titles in the King of California Golden State Challenge (GSC) Series.
Allard took a methodical approach the last couple of weeks of the GSC season by not taking too many risks on the track. “This title is all about the great team I have behind me,” said Allard. “I’m glad we finally got this deal over because it’s been a tough last couple of weeks with just driving smooth and clean.”

Allard captured his first King of California title in 2006 by winning seven main events. The 2008 season was different for Allard. The Chico, California racer used consistency and one victory to claim the championship.
As he went into the final weekend of racing with the Golden State Challenge Series, Allard held on to a 31 point lead over Los Angeles racer Tyler Walker. Walker won on Friday and Allard took sixth which pushed Allard down to a 21 point lead.
Allard drove a very smart and conservative feature and held the bottom of the speedway for most of the race. After 30 laps of racing, he brought the K&N Filters No. 0 home in the 5th position. It was his 16th top-five finish of the GSC season and the 21st top-ten result in 22 races this year. It was also enough points for the King of California title.
“K&N has the best air and oil filters on the market,” he said. “We’ve had many racers come to us and discuss the problems they are experiencing with other brands of racing filters that blow the sealing ring. We tell them about K&N, they switch and do not have any more failures. With our K&N air box the maintenance is effortless. Take one look at the champions around the race track and you will see why champions choose K&N.”
With the King of California title under his belt Allard and the Williams Motorsport Tam will compete in the Midwest Mecca of Mud at the 18th annual Knoxville Raceway 360 Nationals.
