“I can’t give enough credit to this K&N Filters, Jeg’s, Biondo Racing Products Cobalt,” said Biondo. “This is our second year in the modified classes and it’s very different from last year. The car is phenomenal. The K&N oil filters I used throughout the race made it so easy to change the oil.”

Biondo started his road to victory by using a .017 reaction and 8.778 on his 8.75 dial to defeat Jason Tinberg. After wining a double-breakout decision with perennial hitter Jimbo Fields in round two, Biondo earned another run in the fourth round. He faced off with Bill Rowe, Jr. in the crucial round of the event.

“It was critical for a couple of reasons,” said Biondo. “We had a shifter malfunction and I struggled to keep the car in first gear on the starting line. Then, Rowe put us further behind with his reaction time. Luckily, the crew kept up with the weather and kept tabs on the competition all weekend. Right before the run they figured Rowe was capable of breaking out. With that information I made the right decision at the finish line and let him have the stripe. Without that teamwork and knowledge, that race could have gone the other way.”

With his shifter problems behind him, Biondo moved up the ladder to the final and defeated Vogues. Biondo plans to attend the next four NHRA national events in Bristol, Topeka, Chicago and Englishtown along with a pair of big dollar bracket races in between those events.
