“I think our team is a threat wherever we race,” said team leader Curt LeDuc. The results at the Los Angeles County Fairplex in Pomona, California reinforce his opinion.

LeDuc’s two new Ford trucks debuted with a series of strong races. Todd LeDuc raced to a pair of fourth-place finishes in the Pro 2 class. Kyle LeDuc made his Pro 4 class debut with a fifth-place finish in the first of two rounds at Pomona. In addition, freestyle motocross legend Brian Deegan made his four-wheel racing debut in the Pro Lite class. “We’ve had a lot of changes but one thing that has remained is our relationship with K&N Engineering,” said LeDuc. “We can still depend on the reliability of K&N air filters.”

Deegan made his transition to four-wheel competition by finishing 14th out of a field of 28 trucks. On Sunday, Deegan qualified 17th and even though he said he was out of control several times, he made it to the top ten. “Then this dude just clipped my rear end and spun us both out,” said Deegan. “It was kind of a weak move, but whatever. I was ticked because I had top ten.”

Both Kyle and Curt LeDuc were positioned for top three finishes in the second round, but had mechanical problems. “We qualified third and ran second,” said Todd LeDuc. “Then another truck hit me and gave me a left rear flat and I drove the last nine laps on a flat tire. We still held off the other guys for a long time.”

The week before Pomona, Curt LeDuc drove the Rocksatar Makita Ford Class 8000 truck to another win in the Best of the Desert series Terrible’s 250 at Primm, Nevada. “We worked on the car all winter,” said LeDuc. “I couldn’t trust it last year. It was not predictable. Now I’ve got to rethink my strategy and just trust the car and go for it. Kyle and I are going to be a threat in the Pro 4 class. We will drive each other to go faster.”
