2007 to 2010 Mini Cooper S Owners Add Performance with K&N Air Intake System
The 2007 Mini Cooper S with its aluminum 1.6 liter engine was designed to replace the four-cylinder, cast iron motor found in the previous generation. The new Mini Cooper is turbocharged instead of its supercharged predecessor.
K&N Engineering has designed a performance intake system (57A-6037) for the 2007 through 2010 Mini Cooper S with the 1.6 liter engine. It is a custom design that uses K&N's Apollo air protective filter enclosure and a washable reusable K&N air filter (RC-5052). This air filter provides excellent air flow while protecting your engine from harmful contaminants. To help extend the service lif of the RC-5052, you can also purchase a Drycharger (RC-5052DK). Made of silicone treated polyester, this filter wrap creates a water repelling barrier between the outside elements and your filter.
Performance intake system for 2007 to 2010 Mini Cooper S
The K&N air intake system comes with adaptors to fit the Mini Cooper S. It is
designed to eliminate hot air problems by reducing heat build up and feeding
cooler outside air into the engine. The Apollo provides the benefits of an open cone
filter and a standard air box in one unit.
The removable cold air feed attachment allows outside air
to be fed into the unit. Zip ties are provided to secure the cold air hose. The original Mini Cooper S air box restricts air flow into the engine. The
57A-6037 is designed
to free your vehicle from much of this restriction while providing a power gain with excellent filtration.
Instructions are included in four different languages. The K&N performance
intake kit is easy to assemble, usually in 90 minutes or less and comes with the
K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
