Before Aston Martin Won Sebring's 12 Hour Race They Installed a K&N - the Worlds BEST Air Filter!
SEBRING, FL -
Aston Martin joined a long list of professional racing teams who race and win with K&N's world famous
. When Aston Martin returned to racing with their all-new DBR9, they did it in true style - with a victory at the 53rd Annual 12 Hours of Sebring!
K&N Engineering has more than 35 years of history in developing filters for racers and enthusiasts alike. The filtration technology chosen to protect the advanced, high-dollar engines of the world's most prestigious racecars is the same washable, re-usable filtration K&N makes available for street-driven vehicles.
Aston Martin Racing took a surprise GT1 class victory and fourth place overall in its debut race in the grueling 12 hour race. Record crowds saw David Brabham, Stephane Ortelli and Darren Turner, celebrate a GT1 class victory in the number 57 DBR9, ahead of the dominant Corvette C6-R teams.
Car 58, driven by Peter Kox, Pedro Lamy and Stephane Sarrazin took 8th place in GT1, finishing 15th overall. However, the finishing position fails to do justice to the team who completed essential chassis repairs in remarkable time, allowing the car to rejoin the circuit in little over an hour after an earlier collision.
Team Principal, George-Howard Chappell commented, "We've been encouraged by the reliability of the cars throughout our testing program so far and the fact that they also had the pace to achieve victory here at Sebring is testament to the efforts of the whole Aston Martin Racing team."
"Racers demand the best possible performance from every component they use," noted K&N CEO, Steve Rogers. "Just as teams like Aston Martin rely on K&N to protect their valuable powerplants, while allowing the airflow necessary for optimum performance, we know that the vast majority of our customers are driving street vehicles and also rely on K&N to protect their investment. K&N is proud to partner with Aston Martin Racing for their air filter needs."
