Watson is not satisfied with only defending his title in 2008. The Barnard Castle County, Durham UK resident also wants the British Rallycross Championship title. “We lead the BRC for three rounds last year,” said Watson. “We want to bench mark ourselves against the professional teams.”

Mad Mark Racing has thirteen races planned this year. “We race on a short course circuit that is very fast,” said Watson. “Our cars are built for acceleration and we can go from 0-60 mph in only two seconds. We only use K&N Engineering air filters. K&N protects our engines from very dusty tracks we face in Rallycross racing.”

Watson drives a Citroen Xsara 4X4 T16. “It is a division 1 super car,” he said. “My engine was built by Tony Bardy and is the only model of its kind in UK Rallycross this year.”

Watson was out of the sport for ten years and returned two years ago. “I love the friendliness in the paddock and the fact that the public and fans come into the pits,” he said. “It’s great to be back in action to experience the acceleration, the speed and best of all, winning.”
