22nd Annual Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals Underway with K&N Sponsored Racers
Racing’s answer to football’s Super Bowl gets underway with the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals at the Tulsa Expo Raceway in Oklahoma.

At the 22nd Annual Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals, Mopar will add a $10,000 bonus check for any Mopar-powered midget car driver who wins the $10,000 purse. K&N Engineering has many sponsored racers at the event running K&N products.
Ryan Kaplan goes after first place win at Chili Bowl
K&N’s Gary Scelzi and Jerry Coons, Jr. are two high-profile drivers who are ready to battle it out for the win and the bonus.
is a four-time NHRA POWERade champion but will go after the Chili Bowl win in Oklahoma in a K&N Filters midget. Most of the season the K&N Filters midget is piloted by 17-year-old Michael Faccinto, but Scelzi plans to make the most of the NHRA off-season in the car he owns.
Jerry Coons Jr. is seeking his first Chili Bowl Nationals championship. Coons scored his second straight USAC Midget championship with K&N products in 2007. Other K&N sponsored drivers at the Chili Bowl are: Darrin Bolton of El Dorado Hills, California; Chad Kemenah of Alvada, Ohio;
of Campbell, California; Garrett Hood of Concordia, Kansas; Terry McCarl of Altoona, Iowa; Billy Wease of Noblesville, Indiana; C.J Sarna of Palm Desert, California; John Sarna of Palm Desert, California;
of Chico, California;
of Phoenix, Arizona; Randy Hannagan of Pittsboro, Indiana; Jason Meyers of Clovis, California; Cory Kruseman of Ventura, California; Brad Kuhn of Avon, Indiana.
At least 285 midget cars will compete for the win. The action begins in the QuikTrip Center on January 8 with practice and will end with the Bass Pro Shops Pre-Qualifying event at 7:00 p.m. The Chili Bowl concludes with a 50 lap main event on January 12.
