“We a lot of issues,” said Cafro. “Our carburetor was leaking gas and we didn’t know it. Also, at mile 56 Dana missed the Honda pit stop and ran out of gas. That put us back in the race.”

The Honda Temecula Motorsports Team with K&N Engineering products worked its way into third place. “We ran out of gas again and it was a nice long hike to get the fuel,” said Cafro. “The problem may have been a float bowl that was stuck open. We filled up, the gas problem fixed itself and we started chipping away at the time deficit.”

In the last 50 miles of the race the team took the lead. “We had a flawless ride from that moment on,” said Cafro. “During the entire race our K&N air filter was our biggest defense against the dirt and dust. It was the one thing we did not have to worry about.”

The Honda Temecula Motorsports Team will resume racing in January 2008.
