“I have a chance to win $5,000 a day,” said Langdon. “But there are several special races I really want to win. There is a 64 car race where the two finalists win a complete motor and the semi finalists get a compete transmission. The quarter-finalists win a $1,000 purse or an entry into the Ultimate Gambler.”

The Ultimate Gambler is a winner-take-all race with all kinds of cars on the track. “Last year there were 64 cars and a $64,000 prize,” said Langdon. “I made it down to the quarter-finals in 2006. It’s stressful at times, but the win at Pomona keeps my spirits up as I go into the 2007 race at Las Vegas Speedway.”

Langdon competed in the 8.90-class and beat his main adversary, Anthony Castillo, for the win at the running of the 43rd Annual Auto Club NHRA Finals. This gave him the Sportsman Class division title. “Everything just fell into place that day,” he said. “Pomona is hard for me because it’s my home track and I want to do well with all my friends and family out there.”

K&N has sponsored Langdon for the past five years. “The K&N air filter keeps my motor clean, keeps dirt out of the carburetor and helps with engine performance,” he said. “The K&N oil filter is the best I’ve ever used. It’s dependable and I can run the motor all year long knowing it will be clean.”

Langdon will race in the Super Comp Class again in 2008 with K&N products. “It’s a tough class but I want to win it in 2008,” he said. “Winning at racing, however, is never guaranteed.”
