The Manufacturers Championship is still undecided, but Aprilia is hoping to hold off its competitors as it brings a narrow 13-point lead into the final weekend. The team’s efforts were impacted by Darryl Atkins' injury during competition at the AMA event in Galveston, Texas.

Atkins was second to Carlson in individual points before the mishap. He will be replaced at Morongo by French Grand Prix racer Kevin Bethome, a fifth-place finisher in the World Supermoto Championship. Henry Wiles will also join the Factory Aprilia Team this weekend.

“We use K&N Air and Oil Filters,” said Atkins. “Our bikes run better and we gain horsepower on the track,” said Atkins. “The bikes ran better with K&N throughout the season.”
