Sometimes similarities are genetic, sometimes the similarity becomes
familiarity. Tawny Strader grew up watching her father race, now she is the
racer and he is her crew. The legacy that passed from father to daughter shines
in a 16-year-old girl.

In her first year of racing, Tawny finished third in points overall in the High
School Series at Edgewater. That win propelled the high-school junior from
Brookville, Ohio to the O’Reilly Raceway Park Summit Finals.
“I had two good qualifying runs there, but on the first round I red-lighted,”
said Tawny. “I need to do better next time. There is always room for improvement
as far as I’m concerned. I am determined to make it to the finals in 2008.”
Tawny likes the competition and likes to work on her Pontiac. “It’s important to
know my car so I can race better,” she said. “I have small hands and they can
fit in tiny spaces under the engine. I also helped replace the radiator. My dad
is teaching me about mechanics.”

a big difference in performance and power on our Pontiac.”
The season begins again for Tawny in April 2008. She plans to be back at
Edgewater with her Pontiac equipped with K&N.
