RIVERSIDE, CA – December 22, 2006 – K&N Engineering, maker of the World’s
Best Air Filters, today announced it has awarded Carl Judice with a new 2007 Chevy
Silverado pick-up truck to replace his
former million-mile
plus truck he has been driving since 1998. K&N Engineering representatives
delivered Judice’s new truck to him yesterday in his hometown of New Iberia,
Louisiana. Judice’s prior truck, a 1998 Chevy Silverado, used the same, single
K&N High-Flow Air Filter for over a million miles, saving an estimated $1,800 in
replacement air filters. K&N Engineering offers a Million Mile limited warranty
on its over the road air filter line as a proof point to the product line’s
longevity and durability.

“I have never had the truck's engine rebuilt and the cylinder head has
never been removed in over a million miles,” said Carl Judice, owner of the now
famous million mile truck. "I've cleaned the K&N air filter maybe 10 to 12 times
in the million miles. When I open the cover and it’s dirty, I clean it,” Judice
added, “I want to thank K&N for the new truck and the new air filter. After
going a million miles on my original K&N, I would never risk running my truck on
any other air filter. It’s the oil on the K&N that traps the dirt and keeps it
out of the engine.”

K&N’s air filters help cars run better by using multiple layers of cotton
gauze material that is treated with a tacking agent to protect the engine for
the lifetime of any road going car or truck. Much like a spider’s web, the
filter allows for superior air flow through the grid-like weave of the cotton
fabric. Because the oil-treated cotton is sticky like a spider’s web, the filter
is able to trap and hold contaminants safely in suspension and continue working
long after a conventional air filter would have needed to be discarded. This
technology, called “depth loading,” is what makes a K&N High-Flow air filter
fundamentally different from paper and other pulp based air filters commonly
found in cars and trucks that clog as the filter is used and require frequent
service intervals.
K&N air filters are available for thousands of different vehicle applications
including most cars, trucks, and motorcycles. K&N’s proven development and
design methodology relies on achieving the “Sweet Spot” among the following four
engineering attributes: Air Flow, Filtration Efficiency, Dirt Retention, and
Durability – each of which is carefully tested and fine tuned in K&N’s
multi-million dollar on site testing laboratories.
“K&N is pleased to provide Carl with this truck in honor of his ability to put
our famous Million Mile air filter to the test. Customers like Carl make our
jobs easier – he’s a regular guy with a regular truck wanting a product that will
work in the long-haul,” said Steve Rogers, K&N Engineering’s CEO.
