Germany’s Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirschen will host the final round of the 2008 Speedway Grand Prix World Championship Series.

Australian Jason Crump is currently in second place in overall points, behind series leader Nicki Pedersen. “The points gap is not impossible to overcome,” said Roy Stone, Crump’s Media Relations Manager. “In order for Jason to win, Nicki has to have an off-night. Jason also has to go through the race unbeaten to take the World Championship for the third time in his career.”

Crump, Poland’s Tomasz Gollob and Poland’s Rune Holta are also in the running to compete in the Super-Prix, a race for $200,000.00 in United States dollars. One of the three will be named at the Grand Finale Race in Germany.
“This will be a make or break event for me,” said Crump. “I’ve got a tough job ahead of me, but I also have everything to gain and nothing to lose. I’m going to the magnificent Veltins Arena full of confidence and without any pressure.”
Crump also has gate three in the Super-Prix. “I hope that gate is working well at the end of the night,” he said. “Either way it’s my intention to win that race and collect the loot.”
