Virtual Tour of the K&N Automotive and Motorcycle Dyno Area
K&N's automotive and motorcycle horsepower and torque testing is performed on wheel-based dynamometers, which measure actual brake horsepower and torque at the wheel(s) receiving power from the drive train. K&N's Riverside facility has automotive dynamometers, motorcycle/ATV dynamometers and an oversize vehicle 2-wheel-drive chassis dynamometer.

The K&N engine dyno room houses our SuperFlow 902 dyno. The facility is used for testing air filter products on engines for R&D product development and race team support.

Virtual Tour of the K&N Air Filter Efficiency Laboratory
K&N operates an in-house filtration test laboratory with two different testing machines built in consultation with Southwest Research Institute, one of the pre-eminent testing companies in the world. We perform tests of air filters both in the factory air box and in SAE/ISO recommended test housing fixtures. Our goal is to design air filters with the maximum possible airflow achievable while providing outstanding engine protection.

K&N Engineering performs airflow testing on a SuperFlow Corporation SF-1020 flow bench capable of measuring airflow rates up to 1020 cubic feet per minute (cfm) at test pressures of up to 65 inches of water. K&N uses this equipment to measure the restriction created by air filter and air intake designs.

K&N design engineers use a vibration test stand to put extreme stress on air filters, air filter assemblies, and air intake parts. The vibration stand is designed for vertical, horizontal and lateral testing and helps determine product durability in simulated driving conditions.
