Dear Sirs,
I installed your cold air intake system on my 05' supercharged Cobalt, close fit but installed just fine.  It really made a difference in horsepower and now you can really hear the supercharger spin, sounds great!

Thank you for the quality workmanship.

K&N,
As of this morning, I am totally sold on your FIPK.  I own a 2000 Jeep Wrangler that is mostly stock.  The only engine modification I have done is to change out the air intake system.  I love the sound, but have found it difficult to quantify any real performance increase without taking it in for a dyno check.  That all changed this morning.  On my way into work I was sitting at a particular intersection here in East Orlando.  The road I travel on goes from two lanes to one about a football field length after the light.  Needless to say, it is a site of many drag races to see who will be in front for the single lane.  Time after time I have simply let the car in the right lane (the one that ends) get ahead only to have it stop and wait for a left turn or simply go much slower than I normally drive.  Today I decided to try and stay in the lead since I was the first car in the left lane.  A small black car pulled up next to me and kept inching forward while waiting for the green.  I thought that I recognized it as one of those that always zooms up only to stop for a left turn just after the lane merges.  On the green, I floored the gas and took off.  So did the black car.  My Jeep chirped the tires in 1st , 2nd and I think 3rd as I shifted quickly up to 5th.  The black car could not quit keep up and certainly did not have the power to pass me.  I drove down the road with the satisfaction of being first and not having to stop again for a “left turn bandit”.  I was wrong about the black car though.  It did not turn and stayed on my tail for the next couple of miles until the road ended at the next intersection.  We now had two lanes again, and the black car again pulled up beside me.  I glanced over and the driver had scowl on his face that told me his was “pissed”.  I had my victory and did not wish to be confrontational, so this time I would just let him go.  There were others in front of us this time.  When the light turned green, he was off like a shot and obviously very mad as he darted through traffic and cut off a few to get ahead.  I just laughed.  The thing that really amazed me was the fact that the black car turned out to be a BMW 325.  Not an old beater, but one with the new body style, which meant it could not be more than 2 years old.  My six year old Wrangler “BEAT the pants off” a BMW in a drag race!!

Thanks for a great product,

My first car was a Ford Ranger a few months later I purchased the FIPK kit for it.  I did a few "performance mods" to the Ranger and the FIPK was the only noticeable power gain.  I traded in the Ranger for something a little faster, okay a lot faster; a 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo SS supercharged.  The first thing I did when I got home from the dealership was order the FIPK for it.  The air box in the Monte Carlos' are extremely restrictive to reduce the supercharger whine.  As I expected there was a very noticeable power gain, and of course the supercharger whine.  Another thing that I noticed from both vehicles was the increase throttle response.  To all you concerned about the question "if they're so good why don't they install them from the factory."  Don't worry, because the reason they put the "air box" is to reduce as much noise as possible.  I was researching new cars and dealerships are starting to offer a high flow intakes at a cost of around $450, way more than any FIPK kit.  They are not hard to install at all, they make the whole engine perform better.

I HAVE ALWAYS USED K&N FILTERS IN ALL MY CARS AND MOTORCYCLES.  I FIND YOU PAY A LITTLE MORE YOU GET THE BEST.  THIS LAST SENTENCE IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE.  IN K&N'S CASE IT HAPPENS TO BE VERY TRUE.

I WON'T USE ANY OTHER FILTERS IN MY NEW OR OLD CARS.  I HAVE A 1991 FXR-P THAT HAS MANY MILES OF HARD RIDING INTO MEXICO WHERE THERE IS NOT ALWAYS A PAVED ROAD.  I DON'T THINK I WOULD HAVE AS MANY MILES ON MY BIKE AND MY EL CAMINO, IF IT WERE NOT FOR K&N FILTERS.  ON MY EL CAMINO I HAVE OVER 250,000 MILES ON MY 305 CI ENGINE.  I AM GETTING READY TO INSTALL A NEW ENGINE IN HER VERY SOON, SHE IS JUST FEELING HER AGE.

I AM MOVING UP TO A HIGH PERFORMANCE 350 WITH A 4 SPEED AUTOMATIC.  I WON'T USE ANYTHING BUT K&N FILTERS IN HER ALSO.  SO IF I AM STILL ALIVE IN AROUND THE YEAR 2029. THAT'S WHEN I WILL NEED ANOTHER K&N FILTER FOR THE EL CAMINO.

SEE YOU IN ABOUT 22 YEARS FOR ANOTHER ONE FOR THE EL CAMINO.

THANKS FOR A GREAT PRODUCT,

Amazing Testimonial

Dear Sirs,

I recently purchased a Civic Hybrid.  I was getting 46 mpg and quite happy with that.  I have been one of your customers for years and installed one of your filters, as is my practice.  I am now regularly getting 50+mpg, almost immediately after installing the filter.  There was a quantum leap in performance…something I a Prius owner thought was rather unusual.

The other point I noted was that I have more dynamic range.  I get better mpg when I have to quickly accelerate. This is important on a 1.3 liter engine.

My car is now getting the same overall mileage as the Prius.  I know this because I compare data with Prius owners.

Thanks,
Charlie Gilmer

K & N Performance

I have a K&N air filter on the Webber carburetor of my 1960 Austin Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite.  The car runs really great sounds nice too.  Two years ago I bought a 2004 Yamaha R1 (one of the greatest sport bikes on the planet).  Great great bike really powerful, I thought.  Just recently my dirty air filter needed replacing so I bought a K&N instead.  I figured a little gain in power would be nice and they last for ever, can' t beat that.  Boy was I ever wrong.  My R1 must have been hibernating the past two years.  I was shocked by the difference in power especially in the low end of the rpm range.  This thing spins the rear tire every time I give it gas.  The difference in acceleration is tremendous.

Thanks K&N for a great product.

MPG INCREASE

I INSTALLED MY NEW K N FILTER IN 45 MINUTES THEN WENT ON A 500 PLUS MILE INTERSTATE TRIP.  IN MY F-250 SD CREWCAB 4X4 6.0L TURBO DIESEL HARLEY DAVIDSON I WAS AVERAGING 15.7 MPG ON HIGHWAY TRIPS, I HAVE AN ONBOARD GAUGE THAT SHOWS THE MPG AVERAGE ALL THE TIME.  AFTER INSTALL ON 500 MILE TRIP I JUMPED TO 22.9 MPG.  AWESOME, I THINK IT PAID FOR ITSELF ON THAT TRIP.  THANKS.

Whoooosh! That pretty much sums up the results of the cold air intake installation on my new 2006 Scion XB.  The installation was easy and took about an hour and I was moving slowly to double-check everything for clearance and proper alignment.  It looks great under the hood, and I know that I have picked up the full 8.1 horsepower boost that the detail sheet said that I would on this car.  It will get rubber in second gear!  Third gear passing power is way up!  And the gas mileage (which was already great) increased by almost four MPG at the time of the last fill up!  I'm running gas mileage in the realm of 40+ MPG!  It is truly hard to believe that the automakers don't use these units on their cars and add $500.00 to $800.00 to the retail sticker!  They're missing out on the full potential of their cars and profit margins.  Oh well, their loss is literally our gain.  Don't hesitate to buy and install a K&N cold air intake on you car.  Compared to the gain in HP and MPG the cost is very minimal.  And the service department was great, too!  Very rare these days to get info from people who actually listen and care.

Many Thanks,

Performance kit for Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

Just finished installing (air intake) kit 57-1513-1.  Simple, about an hour and 10 min.  30 mile test run seems to indicate about 1.3 mpg increase.  Itching for a longer trip.

Hello,

I just recently purchased a K&N for my 05 R6, I cannot believe the difference that a high performance air filter makes !!!  You can tell right away that there's a huge response in acceleration and throttle response.  I installed it tonight around 11 o’clock and decided to take a spin real quick to see if there was any difference, that 5 minute ride turned into a hour and a half run.  Words cannot describe the bang for the buck.  I will recommend a K&N to everyone that has a motorcycle.  Thanks for a great product. Thx………

Another Success Story for K&N...

To the K&N Folks,

After doing some research and reading about all of the positive feedback for your intakes/filters, I decided to buy an intake kit for my 2003 Ford Mustang 3.8L V6.  I installed it out of the box in about an hour.  The step-by-step instructions made it super easy, and maintenance should be a breeze.  Fit and finish were outstanding.  The best part was driving it for the first time after installing the kit.  It was like having another car...the acceleration difference was unbelievable.  From better idling to the instant response from pressing the accelerator, feeling is believing.  You now have another customer for life!  Thanks K&N for the affordable fun and performance!

Ridgeline Testimonial
Hey, my brother and I just installed your intake for my Honda Ridgeline... I was expecting it to sound cooler and have more horsepower... but the difference we got was literally amazing.

First off, the intake sound that thing makes is insane!  It took my quiet, mundane little V-6 sound and made transformed it into a deep, loud rumble.  I didn't think my truck /could/ rumble, but now it does.

Second, the horsepower gain is more than just 'noticeable'.  Getting on the highway and passing the difference in remarkable.  The first few times it caught me by surprise and gave me a decent scare, but now I've just learned to enjoy it.

Best of all, your instructions were so clear and easy that even inexperienced guys like my brother and I were able to install it in less than an hour.  Keep up the good work!

Great Product

Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that I am very happy with the FIPK (Air Intake) that I got for my 2001 Chevy S-10 (4.3L w/5sp) pickup.  I can feel a big difference in acceleration.  I do mostly mixed driving, but when I get on the highway I need to merge quickly onto busy roads, so I really mash down the accelerator.  Around town I tend to drive in 4th gear at 25-30mph and the intake has made a difference in the way it sounds and I don't feel like I am bogging it down so much.  I have only gone through 1 tank of gas, but in just that tank I have seen a 2.2mpg increase in fuel economy, that includes some hot rodding to experience the difference and impress my friends!!

Thanks,
Jesse Honn
Port Orchard, WA

Update - I have a K&N replacement filter on my '05 Civic Hybrid and it has made a 1.6mpg increase.  On my last long trip I hit 51.1mpg, which was the first time I have broke the 50mpg barrier.

K&N 57i review

Recently fitted the K&N 57i induction kit to my Astra, was very impressed with results as didn’t know what to expect.  Sounds amazing, smoother through gear changes , better throttle response, looks good in engine bay and was easy to fit.  Spot on.

Thank you K&N,
I recently purchased a Typhoon Series Cold Air Intake for my 2003 Mazda Protege ES 2.0L.  The intake adds immediate throttle response and some horsepower.  It sounds beautiful, you can hear the air zooming through the filter with a nice "whoosh" with a tap of the gas pedal, and was a cinch to install.  Now the "four-banger" Protege is a lot more enjoyable to drive and more fuel efficient.  I am very impressed with the whole kit.  All parts are grade-"A" K&N parts and had no problems with any of them. Thank YOU K&N!

Oh, and another thing. The service at K&N is TOP OF THE LINE. I purchased the intake kit from an online autoparts store, and upon delivery noticed that a couple of pieces were missing from the package. I contacted the store (wrong!) and was told to send them an e-mail, which I did.  I did not hear from them for a few days, so I decided to just call K&N (which the store told me to do after three days).  Five minutes later I hung up the phone and my parts were on their way.  K&N sent the parts 2-day to a very delighted customer, me.  Thank you!

To the People of K & N,

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting two gentlemen who build and work with Formula racing cars. Intrigued in their knowledge and expertise in auto mechanical systems, I asked them if there was anything I can do to increase the horsepower on my vehicles without expensive or extensive engine repairs or adjustments.  They both "highly" recommended K & N filters for my cars.  I went to a local auto parts store and found the same enthusiasm from the sales clerk and store manager who said they both have K & N filters on their cars.  I had to find out for myself after receiving these two endorsements and purchased my first filter on the spot.

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu that I installed the air filter in one week ago.  I can say with confidence, there is a increase in my acceleration power.  I raved to my wife about the increased performance for the past week and purchased an air filter for her 1999 Honda Accord yesterday.  Just finished installing her filter and registering it online.

We haven't driven her car yet with the new filter installed, but I am sure we will both realize the improved performance.  Thank you for your research and development of products to enhance the performance of "everyday" cars.  I know that whatever cars I own in the future, they will have K & N filters installed in them.

Please keep us informed of other performance enhancing products for our cars.

Sincerely,

2005 Magnum

I installed a FIPK on my 2005 Magnum Hemi any my only regret is that I waited so long to do it.  The sound is great and so is the performance.  The installation went smooth as the instructions were complete and great.  My Hemi now sounds like a Hemi should.  Thanks K&N for such a great product.

HI,
Just had my 2006 Toyota X-Runner fitted with the 77 series cold air kit.  WOW!  What a difference!  The acceleration is instantly noticeable and the throaty sound is music to my ears!  Best part was the dealer installed & does Not void the warranty, as a matter of fact my dealer uses your products in the service dept for all the Yota's that come in for service.  All in all I am one happy camper!!  Thanks K&N.

I can’t compare before-and-after results because I installed a K&N air filter on my Honda CB750 motorcycle as soon as I bought it, based on prior experience with your product.  After 62,000 miles of use it dawned on me that it was time to clean and re-oil the filter, which not surprisingly was REALLY dirty.  I am writing you to say how easy and effective it was to use the K&N cleaner/recharger kit to restore the filter to like-new condition.  Because the dirt collects on the “inside” of a filter with a relatively small opening, I was concerned that I might not be successful in thoroughly cleaning it, but the solvent plus garden hose did the trick with no difficulty.  Once dry the aerosol spray easily re-coated the filter prior to reinstallation.  Piece of cake!  Thanks for making the periodic maintenance so foolproof – it’ll encourage me to clean the filter before another 62,000 miles have gone by!

HI,

My husband and I use K&N air filters in all of our vehicles.  We have been very satisfied with the performance and we tell everybody about them every chance we get.  Keep up the good job.  We appreciate your support of dirt late model racing.  We just went to a Lucas Oil dirt late model race this weekend and saw your sponsorship.  We are big fans of dirt late model racing.  Thanks again and keep up the good work at K&N.

Thanks for a great product.  I just installed a new cold air intake for my brand new 2006 impala SS.  Waited for the product to come out and finally did.  I used K&N products when I was younger and here I am at 44 still using the product.  I was a little nervous messing with my new car but you guys made it so simple with your great directions and pictures.  It looks great. sounds, looks and feels fantastic!  I could not wait to show people that I installed it.  I had to write you guys and tell you thanks for not only a great product but easy to install instructions.

I have already had a testimonial published on your site but wanted to make a further comment now that it has been on my vehicle for 6 months. Keeping an eye on fuel consumption as I always have, before the K&N I was getting between 36 and 42 miles per gallon. On a long journey, I attained 48 mpg and average 45 when combining motorway and city driving conditions.  I had my M.O.T recently and the emissions report showed lower Co2 output than normal on my car.  Not only do I still have extra power in each gear but am attaining Diesel fuel economy in a petrol powered Fiesta.  I don't think the mechanics at the garage believed me!!

Once again, great product and I am still loving the power, fuel economy and efficiency of my K&N assisted engine.

WOW!!!!!!!!

WOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE THE K & N SYSTEM HAS MADE!!!!

I have a '97 Jeep Wrangler - 4.0 liter. When we bought it it already had larger tires added and of course with the larger tires come horrible gas mileage. I had heard about K & N for years but never thought it would make much of a difference, man was I wrong!!!

The factory cold-air system had a "trumpet" off of the filter box that had an approximately 1" opening for air to go in, of course the K & N System is OPEN yet filtered.  The moment I started the Jeep after installing it I could hear the air being drawn in through the system. I then took it for it's first test drive and the added power threw me back in the seat.  But what I like best is the gas mileage!!!!  In this area gas prices are hovering around $3.00 a gallon, and with the small gas tank it seemed you were stopping at every gas station to fill up. I haven't actually figured how much it is saving, but I know I can travel much farther between fill-ups!!!

Thanks again for a great product, now all I have to do is save up for a system for my '05 Jeep Grand Cherokee!!!

Great results

Hi, My wife was winging about the performance of her Mitsubishi Outlander.  She said it had no power and the fuel consumption was through the roof!  This car has always been serviced by the local dealer through which we brought the vehicle.  So I jumped on the net and searched for any performance stuff for the Outlander when I came upon K&N.  So I purchased a filter.  When I went to install it I found the original filter half blocked with insects and debris.  This should have been changed at 40.000.

I cleaned it all out and fitted the K&N.  WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!  Heaps of power, shifts better , sounds better!! Thanks K&N

Installed 1 week and already see a difference

I purchased the E0995 (K&N Air Filter) for my 2001 Ford Winstar about a week ago and I have noticed an increase of about 3.5 miles per gallon of Gas as well and an increase in power when Passing on roads that normally were sluggish in the Passing Zone.  I recommend this small investment to everyone now when I hear them complain of the poor performance their older vehicles are getting.

Just installed a FIPK in my 2006 Nissan Titan and wholly smokes, what a difference it made in the performance. Already have noticed a small increase in gas mileage too, don't know how much, but I'm not putting gas in every other day like I was before the installation.

Great Product, Thanks for the excellent R&D, Dead On..

Just wanted to say Thanks – I am blown away

Just fitted a K&N Air Charger kit : model 63-3053 on my HSV Clubsport – badged as Pontiac GTO in the states I think.  Anyway, wheel spin has never happened so easily.  Power increase was noticeable from the moment I hit the accelerator. Love the kit, well designed, easy to install, although clearance is really tight between engine cover and K&N pipe.  But that because we use a different engine cover on our LS2s here in Australia.

Absolutely Love It – Top stuff- Thanks guys and gals at K&N . Love ya work.

Kawasaki ZX10R

Holly Cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 2004 ZX10r that I have been riding for 2 years.  Just put 9000 miles on it and thought it would be a good idea to change air filter.  So I ordered the K & N replacement filter and started my machine.  Holly Crap this thing was fast already.  After a few minutes of rough idle I took it for a spin around the block.  I don't know why but bottom end response is so much better!!  107 mph, first gear in under 5 seconds and the sound is unbelievable.  It sounds so throaty I thought I may have installed it wrong but it was right.

Thank you so much for your hard work

K&N - the only choice !!

HI All,
I've Used K&N for the past 10 years over 2 cars; a Peugeot 405 Mi 16 X4 and SUBARU IMPREZA Turbo 2000.

I will NOT Use any other Filter except K&N.

The reason is this, on the PUG I took it for a drive (std. paper filter) on the local M'way/highway, 80 mph and then released the accelerator, the nose of the car DIVED owing to the lack or air entering the system.

FITTED the K&N (Panel), same piece of road, same test, the car continued on as if nothing happened then SLOWLY began to decelerate NO DIVING !!..Hence the system was breathing a LOT easier. TRY a similar test ? up to you, but I am Happy.

The SUBARU is one of the worlds best rally cars (or was), I changed the panel filter and after what I was expecting it was even more impressive.  MUST ADD.  I found both vehicles to be slightly better on economy as well good improvement on performance !!

IF you want the best from a vehicle sometimes the cone just doesn't work because of inside engine bay temps..YOU need to be able to breath COLD air...so make sure u have the filter sealed in a box with out side air only entering it.. OH and don't try and ram it into the box with having the scoop for it front mounted..will cause more problems than worth..in other words ..THINK A LITTLE SAVE A LOT !!

p.s. am now going to try a performance diesel..good job there's a K&N filter for it..!!

Dear K&N,
The air filter I installed (HA-6088) for my Honda Shadow last week really impressed me.  Not only does it save my fuel consumption but also increased the bike hp.  I like the throttle response a lot now.  Many thanks to K&N again.

For those bikers out there, this is definitely an air filter you shouldn't miss!!!

2002 Ford Taurus

I recently installed one of your K&N air filters in my 2002 Ford Taurus.  Wow what a great air filter, everyone should have one.  As soon as I put it in you could feel the throttle response was better, the engine idles better.  Before I changed to your filter my car averaged 27mpg highway.  My last tank of fuel highway use the car averaged 31mpg.  Great filter, keep up the good r&d.

Dear K&N,

I have your K&N replacement filter on my 2000 Chevy Silverado Z71 4 wheel drive pickup.  I put in on at 75,000 miles and now have 100,000 on the truck.  I have kept good mileage records and have documented that I get from 1.7 to 2.4 miles per gallon better mileage with the K&N than I did with the stock filter.  At $3.00 a gallon it pays for itself very quickly and then saves you money for the next million miles.  I just wish I had put it in when the truck was new.  I am very satisfied with my K&N purchase and have just ordered the 57-3035 FIPK2 kit for my 2001 Vette.  The 11 horsepower gain you show on your dyno report for my Vette is an outstanding increase for a simple bolt on replacement.  I am sure I will be writing another report soon after getting some seat time in the Vette with the new filter system.

Thanks for a great product, one that truly lives up to it's advertising.

K&N filter on GMC Sonoma

I have a 1998 GMC Sonoma that I bought about 7 months ago.  When I first started driving it I got about 18 MPG, since I bought a K&N filter 2 months ago I am now getting 21-22 MPG.  I think I am going to buy the intake kit soon.
ITS WORTH IT!

K&N FILTER BELIEVER!

I JUST PURCHASED A 2003 F-250 SUPER DUTY WITH A 5.4 ENGINE ONLY TO FIND OUT IT GOT 9 MPG.!!!  WE USE THE TRUCK FOR SERVICE ADDING UP LOTS OF MILES PER MONTH.  AFTER READING ABOUT YOUR AIR FILTER AND GRUMBLING ABOUT THE PRICE I PURCHASED ONE... BOY ARE WE SAVING AT THE PUMP NOW!!!  13 MPG!  DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A LOT TO YOUR AROUND TOWN DRIVERS BUT THIS TRUCK GETS THE OIL CHANGED EVERY 6 WEEKS (YES EVERY 3000 MILES).  ADD IT UP, AT THE END OF THE YEAR WE SAVED A LOT MORE THAN THAT FILTER COST.  THANK YOU!  YOUR PRODUCT IS GREAT...BUT NOW COULD YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT MY MOTHERINLAW?

I guess I don't get out much, I am 51 years old and recently purchased and installed K&N Air Filters for the first time in three SUVs owned by my family members.  Several friends recommended them after I told them we were unhappy with our AVG mpg in the Jeep and Santa Fe.

I operate the 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5L V6 (3000 miles), my wife has a 2002 Jeep Liberty 3.7L V6 (46,000 miles), and my daughter has a 2006 Saturn Vue 3.5L V6 (4000 miles).  The filters in the 2006 vehicles were perfectly clean, but the Liberty needed a new filter anyway.

My Santa Fe estimated mpg is 18/23.  My initial mpg for the first 3000 miles varied between 17.2 and 18.3 mpg.  After I reached 2500 miles it was pretty steady at 18.3 mpg during my normal routine driving.  My average mpg (city and HWY combined) for past two weeks since I installed the K&N Air Filter, increased from 18.3 to 20.6 mpg with no changes to my driving habits or routes.  My daily habits are as follows: I drive to work on the interstate at 75 mph for 20 miles (about 20 minutes), I drive home from work on a few different state highways at 55-65 mph for 25 miles (about 25 minutes), and drive around town on short trips 3-4 times a day between 20-35 mph on the weekends.  I also reset my computer and drove my wife to the airport and back for 120-130 miles (about 2 hours of driving) at speeds varying between 55-75 mph.  My computer indicated 26.3 avg. mpg when I returned home.  I agree with others, all vehicles should come standard with K&N Air Filters.  I copied Hyundai since they had a consumers affairs email address listed, Saturn and Jeep do not.

I just installed them in the Saturn and Jeep this week and I will keep you informed.

July 26, 2006 - Follow-Up with data on Jeep Liberty and Saturn Vue

Dear Sir:
I provided the attached article at bottom to you related to your K&N Filters purchased for my Hyundai Santa Fe, Saturn Vue, and Jeep Liberty.  I reported tests only on the Santa Fe at the time.  Your representative on this site asked to provide my test results for the Saturn and Jeep to you as soon as I had something conclusive.  The Jeep Liberty is rather extensive, but accurate.  2006 Saturn Vue Limited (V6, 3.5L) MFGR MPG 20/28 (4,000 miles).  This vehicle has approximately 4,000 miles on it.  I performed Fuel Economy and road tests performed just after it passed the 3000 miles mark and had its first oil change done.  I inspected the Saturn OEM Air Filter and box and they were clean as a whistle.

My daughter was getting 23.5 mpg combined city and highway driving.  I had my daughter drive the vehicle for 2 weeks strictly for city driving on short trips at average speeds between 20-35 mph.  The results were 19.6 avg mpg.  The next test was done by me for 1 week on mainly short trips to and from work, mainly all highway driving at speeds varying between 55 and 70 mph that same as done with my 2006 Santa Fe previously reported.  The results were 27.1 avg mpg.  The next test was done on the highway for a 300-400 mile trip and the results indicated 28.9 avg mpg.

I replaced the clean OEM Filter with a new K&N Filter on the Saturn and repeated same above tests the same way with the same drivers. Results are as follows:

Several City Driving Tests: 21.1 avg mpg (>1.5 mpg)

Several Short Highway Driving Tests: 28.8 avg mpg (>1.7 mpg)

One Long Highway Test: 31.5 avg mpg (>2.6 mpg)

Overall Driving Test: 26 avg mpg (>2.5 mpg)

2002 Jeep Liberty Limited (V6, 3.7L) MFGR MPG 16/23 (47,000 miles).  This vehicle was difficult to compare results because initial testing was performed with a dirty OEM Air Filter and it was later determined it needed a long overdue tune-up and fuel injection cleaning not done since initial purchase, however the final results indicated this vehicle had better gas mileage then ever before even as new.

The following tests were performed by me with the Jeep similar to what was done on the Santa Fe before installing K&N air filter and getting tune-up and fuel injection system cleaned.

Several City Driving Tests: 12.0 avg mpg

Several Short Highway Driving Tests: 17.8 avg mpg

One Long Highway Test: 19 avg mpg

Overall Driving Test: 15.5 avg mpg

The following tests were performed by me on the Jeep similar to what was done above after replacing a dirty OEM Air Filter with a new K&N Filter and cleaning air filter box, but before tune-up and fuel injection system cleaning by dealer: The fuel efficiency improved, but the engine was still running rough especially at idle and the transmission was shifting same as always, and I was not even getting the MFGR recommended EPA MPG so it was taken in for service after the following test results.

Several City Driving Tests: 13.9 avg mpg (>1.9 mpg)

Several Short Highway Driving Tests: 19.8 avg mpg (>2.0 mpg)

One Long Highway Test: 21.5 avg mpg ( >2.5 mpg)

Overall Driving Test: 17.4 avg mpg (> 1.9 mpg)

The following tests were performed by me similar to what was done above and after the tune-up and fuel injection system cleaning by dealer: The engine ran very smooth and transmission shifted better then ever.

Several City Driving Tests: 17.1 avg mpg (>3.2 mpg)

Several Short Highway Driving Tests: 22.0 avg mpg (>2.2 mpg)

One Long Highway Test: 25.0 avg mpg (>3.5mpg)

Overall Driving Test: 18.9 avg mpg (>1.5mpg)

Note: When this vehicle was initially purchased we got an average of 16.4 mpg overall and the best we ever saw was 21.5 mpg on long trip on highway.  So I would have to say the K&N Air Filter improved the gas mileage by at least 2.5 mpg, which sounds about right for this when compared to my other vehicles.  Hope above information is useful to someone.  Personally I will pay more attention to inspecting air filters more often and obtaining MFGR recommended tune-ups and fuel injection system cleaning as well.  K&N has me sold on their filters.

Regards Bill M.

August 4, 2006 - Follow-Up

Dear Sir:

This is my final follow up for my Hyundai Santa Fe per attached report I previously sent you.  I went to the airport again to pick-up my family about 150 miles round trip.  I reset the mpg monitor after filling up the tank before the trip.  When I returned home my avg mpg was 26.4 mpg (>.1 mpg), repeatable data when compared to the previous trip I made to the airport dropping them off.  I followed the same routine and stayed within the speed limit on cruise control, where my speed limit ranged between 55 and 65 mph for most of the trip both ways.  The conclusive highway results are 3.4 mpg over the published highway numbers for this vehicle.  No doubt on a longer trip, it might have increased since it was still climbing when I returned home about .1 mpg every 20 minutes or so.

Since I had such great results with the airport trip, I altered my driving habits on the short trips to and from work by driving in the right lane and reducing my average speed limit from 65-75 mph to 55-60 mph to and from work.  I use the car mostly to go to work, but I now go about 10 mph slower and the avg mpg increased from 21 mpg to about 25.4 avg mpg.  Thanks to replacing my new OEM air filter with the K&N air filter, the very high increase in gasoline costs, and increased learning off the web about what affects gas mileage, I altered my driving habits accordingly for even greater results.  The Hyundai dealer I visit, told me no one he knows is getting such great gas mileage.  I proved by conditioned experiments that your filter increases the mpg by at least 2 mpg on all my vehicles.  I proved that performing tune-ups, air filter replacement or maintenance, and fuel injection system cleaning helps you retain that great gas mileage your car is capable of.  I proved that by altering your driving habits as recommended by the government, manufacturer, and consumer report agencies will help you get the best mpg out of your vehicle and also avoid speeding tickets that result in additional costs and potential loss of driving privileges.  The only thing I would not sacrifice is shutting off my air conditioner since I do live in Louisiana.  Folks should not blame K&N or anyone else if their new K&N filter does not show at least a 2 mpg increase, they should blame their own ignorance of the other factors that affect gas mileage.

Dear sirs,

In 1996 I bought a new Chevy S-10 pickup with the Vortec V-6.  Shortly afterwards I purchased a K&N Air Filter and installed it.  The airbox on my truck had NOT been opened since 1996.  Last week, after 131,000 miles I opened the airbox and removed the filter for the first time in TEN years!!  It was pretty nasty on the bottom, but still looked perfect on top.  My truck was/is still getting the exact same mileage as it did when it was new.  Using the Filtercharger kit, I cleaned and re-oiled the filter and put it back in.  I look forward to ten more years of service from this filter, and I assure you I have your products in every motor vehicle that I care about!

Thanks!

Dodge Ram1500

I wanted to write you guys and tell you how much I love my K & N filter.  When I purchased the filter it was initially for better performance.  I own a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 4.7 liter V8.  As a new truck it performed poorly and had poor gas mileage.  I would get 375 to 380 miles out of a tank of gas.  With the K& N Generation 2 FIPK I could immediately tell the difference in performance, sound of the motor and most of all better gas mileage (400 to 420 miles).  I do not typically write in to these forums but, I have to let people know how much I love this filter.

2002 Nissan Xterra

I just finished my first tank of gas on my K & N air filter and I got 34 more miles out of my 2002 Nissan Xterra.  It makes my truck have a deeper and sexier growl and she is much faster at acceleration.  But the best is that gas savings.  I love it.  Thank you for making a great product.

K&N on Fiat 132 1600

Hi, I recently installed a K&N Custom Filter on my Fiat 132 1600.  This car is 27 years old and has done close to 100,000 Km.  The performance of the car improved tremendously and the old girl now touches 160 Kmph without any problem.  The manifold sound is simply awesome and send those Japanese sedans flouting a huge exhaust into a trance.

FIPK Gen 2

Hello,
I just thought I would drop you a note to tell you what a change my newly installed FIPK Gen 2 has made.  I can feel the difference in the acceleration.  It is a noticeable difference in the performance and fuel efficiency.  It is installed on a 2001 Honda Civic LX Sedan.  Thanks for making a great product.

I just wanted to compliment you on the knfilters.com site.  It's amazing to me how many large companies have bad web sites.  As a former web developer I appreciate your efforts.

I was looking for oil filter info for a specific motorcycle and found what I needed in 10 seconds.  That is very impressive for any site related to the motorcycle industry!

Thanks.

K&N Air Filters Praise!!!

Just another one of those "You're Filter Rocks!!!" e-mails.  I'm sure with the quality of product that you make, you get tons of these.  Anyway, I have a 1988 Mazda RX-7 with one of your air filters on it and I noticed immediate increases in power, Average MPG, and just in general less wear and tear on my old rotary engine (now proudly sitting in my driveway with 200,200 miles on it).  My engine is still in great condition thanks to in no small part my mechanic, and K&N for the great products they make to ensure the average Joe can afford to keep the car they love in great working condition.  Whether you drive a suped up sports car, a classic piece of American muscle, or your soccer mom (no offense soccer dads) mini-van, K&N can help anyone ensure they get the most out of their engine.

One more thing I would like to thank you for is availability of your product.  Replacement filters, cleaning kits, and other necessary parts are located EVERYWHERE, which makes maintaining this system a breeze.

Hello,
I recently installed a "Fuel Injection Performance Kit Gen2" in my 2002 Ford F150 4.6L V8.  I am very happy with the results.  I can feel and hear the difference when accelerating.  Very nice. :)  I have no experience as a mechanic, yet I was able to follow the instructions and install it in a couple of hours.

Great product, Thanks!

Dear K&N~

My name is Adam Hanson.  I have been using your products on all my trucks since I turned 16.  K&N filters, and air intake kits do everything they say they will and more.  I recently bought a 2002 Ford Ranger ext cab short box 4x4 offroad.  It has the 4.0L SOHC V6.  The first thing I bought for it was a K&N air filter.  Before I installed it I wanted to see what difference it would make.  I drove the truck for the first week with the stock filter, and averaged 17mpg.  After I installed your filter I was averaging 19mpg.  2 more mpg will save me a lot of money, and the filter will pay for itself in no time.  Awesome!!!!!  I recommend K&N filters to all my friends, and customers at work.  I work for Red Rooster Auto Parts store in Crystal, MN.

Thanks again,
Adam Hanson

Hello,
I would like to thank K&N for providing me with such a brilliant air filter.  I never knew that just an air filter could bring about such a drastic change in performance.  But thanks to K&N I am experiencing it today and my bike is more peppier and powerful than before.  It is a 150cc bike (150cc Bajaj Pulsar DTSI) but is able to tail a 250cc bike....

Dear K&N,

You make a great product.  I've had 2 K&N filters, one on my 2002 VW Golf and also on my 2002 Honda Civic EX.  I've seen 2 mpg improvement in both in my cars.  Hope I can soon buy the cold air in my Civic which I hear great reviews.

Hello
Installing a K & N air filter in my 1994 Toyota RAV4 (3-door) has definitely given the old girl more 'get up and go'.  She also runs smoother and quieter.  One of the best value for money performance upgrades anyone can do to their 'wheels'.  Thanks K & N!

Dear K&N,

I have been using K&N brand filters since 1997 when I installed my first on my Dodge Neon.  Wow was the reaction I received then and it remains that way to date.  I have now installed K&N filters on all of my families cars and are now moving on to friends, neighbors, and anybody who complains of performance in their car.  The most amazing Install was probably on a 1990 Ford Mustang 4 cylinder.  It had lost it’s get up and go and with a bit of pipe and a K&N filter it was renewed.  The owner paid me for telling him about it.

Keep up the great work.

Yowza!!!

Hi there. Just wanted to share my experience with you folks and everyone else who's reading these testimonials that are on the fence about whether or not to purchase a kit.

I just installed a K&N AIRCHARGER (kit 63-3031) on my two week old 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0L/V-8, and immediately took it for a test drive.  All I can say is..."WOW!!!" The BEAST has been released!  It's a completely different truck.  It's got better throttle response, it's quicker off the line, and it definitely has more horse power/pull, especially in the mid to high rpm range which is great when I'll be towing our travel trailer.  Not to mention mention the lower/throatier exhaust note. I LOVE IT!

I had the system delivered to my door for $228.31 and it's worth every penny and then some!  $228 bucks for an added 20HP!!!  That translates into a little over $11 bucks per added pony.  A small price to pay for the enhanced performance and the potential fuel savings.

Thank you K&N for an awesome product!

Dear K&N:

I installed the Fuel Injection Performance Kit (K&N #57-2553) on my 2003 Ford Crown Vic.

Boy does it sound MEAN!  It'd be worth it just for the sound alone, but the improvement in the throttle response of the engine was what I was really looking for and it did not disappoint.  The engine's performance now seems so "effortless" it isn't even funny.

I am not sure about any gas mileage improvement as yet because I haven't measured it, but it's probably there because with the increased performance there's less need to be sticking my foot into it all the time.

One unexpected improvement was that the kit seems also to have improved the car's handling.  Don't ask me how....it sounds odd, I know, but perhaps with a rear wheel drive car like the Crown Vic it just gives you some added control.  Even my brother said he thought so, too.

Thanks a lot for a great product!

You guys should make mufflers.

OH my!!

To all this may concern,
Now there was a level of hesitation when I hit the “Enter” button to complete the order for a 63-3050 (AirCharger Air Intake) for my 2006 GMC Sierra ½ ton, but now let me tell you the story after I received it.
My level of expertise working on an engine reaches only as far as an oil change and battery connections for my amplifier. This was EASY to Install.  It took me, from opening the box to starting the engine, 35 minutes to install and I was being very careful to not screw anything up.  By the way, there is really nothing you can do to screw the install up unless you lose a part or run something over.
Anyway, after starting the engine I didn’t hear too much of a difference from my upgraded exhaust, but my exhaust is loud enough as it is anyway.  I took it on the freeway and WOW, the take off is amazing and the sound….  I tell you that there is very nice RUMBLE coming out from under my hood and resonating out of my exhaust..
The sound/power is not the only thing.  I filled up my gas this morning and took the EXACT same route I take every morning to work, reset all my gauges to ensure accurate measurement and I couldn’t believe that I really gained just under 2MPG.  I was really, really skeptical about the claims of MPG gains so this almost blew me away.  I was getting 14.7 mpg to work and it went up to 16.5mpg.  That’s really good mileage for me due to the truck being lifted and with heavier tires.
I am the average Joe that was looking for increases in my truck performance and this exceeded my expectations.  Again, I was a MAJOR skeptic and had the mindset of, “If this thing didn’t show me the slightest improvement I had no problem sending it back”, so I am proud to say that K&N took all the doubts away from me and it is a product I recommend to the folks that are reading these testimonials religiously before taking that big $250-$300 step just as I did.
K&N all they away, these guys can correct this statement if I am wrong but I think that K&N are one of the true originators of intakes so this should tell everyone out there that they’ve got to be doing it RIGHT!!!!!

K&N,
When I purchased my 1978 Dodge Diplomat Medallion, 2-Door w/318 2brrl lean burn w/62000 miles last summer, the first thing I did was buy a K&N Air Filter for it.  I noticed a difference right away, power at the pedal was quick and smooth, whether I chomped on it or drove it like grandma.  Plus, a healthy air transfer sound was evident, as well, at the carburetor with the air cleaner on and sealed.  Later that summer on a long trip to Carlisle, PA's Mopar Nationals event, I got 30 MPG.  That is really unheard of for many Diplomat and 318 owners, just read the web.  Many get up to 22 MPG highway.  With the help from K&N my Diplomat easily gets 25 MPG highway, on average.  Which, with rising gas prices, is really great for an eight cylinder engine!  Some newer cars don't even get that kind of mileage, and they have a lighter body, smaller wheel base, smaller engines.  I recently purchased a K&N Oil Filter as well.  We will see how she does, but I am sure that the results will be comparable to the performance of the air filter.  That nut on the end of the filter came in handy with the tight space, and a short filter.  Thanks K&N for a great reusable air filter!

My feedback on K&N Filters

It has been 8 months since I purchased a K&N 33-2293 for my Mazda 3s, and from day 1 up until now the filter has given me excellent results!

Immediately after installation I saw a 3-4 mpg increase in fuel economy and and the engine revs much smoother and sounds more aggressive!

And now, 8 months later, I am typing this while my filter is drying from its first cleaning, and I can honestly say the the mpg increase, smoothness, and engine note are still here! The K&N filter's benefits have not dwindled!

Thanks, K&N for making a great product that delivers! I proudly display the K&N deal in my rear window!

Recently purchased a 2006 V6 4 Runner Sport Edition.  Love the truck but gas mileage and engine performance were just ok.  I was getting 18.5 to 19.5 in town if I was careful.  Just installed the K & N Air Charger System.  I'm not a great mechanic but still found it relatively simple with your directions.  It's hard for me to believe but gas mileage has increased to 23.5 to 24 if I can keep my foot out of it.  Love the engine sound.  Everything about the vehicle is smoother and with the price of gas this will pay for itself in no time.  The truck is quicker off the start and pulls much harder all the way through the power band.

You guys claim an increase of 9.5 HP but the seat of my pants say your selling yourself short.  Love the product.

Thanks for making such an awesome product for an '02 Olds Bravada.  I recently purchased a FIPK GEN II for my vehicle and all I can say is WOW!  THE POWER IS AWESOME.  THE SOUND IS UNBELIEVABLE.  The gas mileage actually even went up about 4 MPG.  In my vehicle that is about 70 miles per tank.  This item will pay for itself in no time.  Thank You, K&N for an awesome product.

Amazing filter

I have had my 1.3 Endura-e Ford Fiesta for many years and have enjoyed driving it since new.  At 30,000 miles, I did a nice big service and pondered over ways to improve it.  I fitted the K&N 57i induction kit 3 weeks ago and can't believe it.... My car has come alive with more torque, less revs in each gear, a lovely low growl and better fuel economy!  I have calculated an increase of an extra 4 mpg and that's in urban areas.  That's an extra 35 miles per tank of petrol.

My car sounds better, runs better and has re-kindled my passion for driving the lovely little Fiesta.  I can't believe I didn't fit this from the start, huge thumbs up to K&N!!!!!

To Whom It May Concern:
I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how pleased I am with your product!  I just had a 6” lift installed on my 2002 Chevy Silverado!  With the lift, it requires (that’s what I told my wife) larger tires.  I was slightly concerned with the drop in gas mileage (losing about 3 to 5mpg with 35’s) and the rep at the shop suggested a K&N Intake and Filter.  I was a bit skeptical, but had heard some good things about K&N, so I figured why not.  Well, the lift is complete, and to my surprise, I lost NO gas mileage, and there is a NOTICEABLE increase in power.  I was shocked.  I immediately went and purchased another one for my wife’s vehicle, and the same thing happened with hers – increased gas mileage (about 4 MPG), and more power.  Thanks K&N for a product that actually lives up to the advertising.

K&N Testimonials
Way to go K&N!!!!  I've just installed a FIPK on my 02 Chevy Z-71.  Very impressed with attention to detail from the installation process to the finished great sounding intake.  If I can restrain and keep my foot out of throttle, there is no doubt there will be a gas savings that will pay the cost of the FIPK.  The problem lies with the temptation of a cool sound of when you jump on the gas...

Extremely happy customer

I chose a K & N filter for my 2002 Roadstar based on two things. The first being K & N's reputation and second the sleek appearance.  Along with exhaust and carb modifications my bike turned from a meek mouse to a screaming maniac.  I was a happy camper.

Last year the chrome began to peel from the cover after I hit it with high pressure water.  I contacted customer service and a very competent woman name Lisa handled my concern.  A week after sending Lisa a picture of the filter cover I received a new one free of charge.  I still feel the same about the product but I am now a lifelong committed owner of K & N products.

If you guys made toilet paper I would be the first to buy it.

Ok K & N,
So I've always been a skeptic about enhancements for my vehicle.  I just recently purchased an AirCharger (air intake) for my 05 Tacoma.  The throttle response is outstanding, it also added 40-50 miles a tank for me.  I'll make my money back in no time.  I did the calculation..the AirCharger will save me over $3,100 over the next 100,000 miles.  There is just no substitute for this product..

Thanks for the gas saver, it's needed now.

I recently sent in an email about the HP upgrades on my '02 Grand Am GT, now the gas mileage has increased. In a combo of highway and stop and go traffic, my car would normally get about 225 miles till empty.  Now after about a month and a half of having the filter in my car, I can now get 280 miles till empty.  Given the fact that its cost me $35 to fill it up @ 2.97 a gallon, this is remarkable!!!  Thanks again K&N for simple , affordable and quality products that AREN'T gimmicks!!!  Keep up the good work!!

Why don't BMW fit your filters as Standard?

To K&N Staff,
I have just purchased 1 of your filters today, for my BMW 320 (2.2) 2001 which I have owned since new and it has never been that smooth with it's power delivery.  In the last 5 miles since I have installed your filter I have seen my car come to life, there is no pinking , no judder or delay, it is a shame that companies like BMW do not put quality performance equipment in their cars like your filters.

Well done K&N keep up the good work.

K & N helped my gas mileage

I have a 1992 Nissan 4 cylinder pickup with over 240,000 miles on it.  I was averaging about 24 MPG with my paper filter, but the K&N helped me get over 28 MPG!  I recommend K&N air filters to everyone I meet.

If people want to know how really good your filters are, then read this.  I have had K & N on my motorcycle since 2001.  I have done 40,000 miles, replacing the oil filter after 4,000.  That is 10 filters from K & N.  At 40,000, the engine demands a strip down and overhaul.  The engine was in such good condition, they told me to bring it back when it has done 80,000.  They were simply amazed and all because of a good quality oil and oil filter… I do not buy elsewhere!

Dear K & N,
I recently cleaned my K & N air filter and was very impressed with the K & N cleaning kit.  The air FilterCharger was purchased 3 - 4 - 1997 and has over 100,000 miles on it.  After I cleaned it, the filter looked and worked like new.  I will now have a K &N on every vehicle I own.

I replaced my OEM filter with a K&N high flow filter in my new 2006 Elantra GLS last week and immediately noticed the difference.  Quicker acceleration and most of all a significant improvement in gas mileage.  My engine is running smoother and the transmission is shifting smoother.  I also noticed it gave my engine a nice sound.  When I hit cruising speed about 60mph on the highway it produces a nice whistle sound with a low roar to it.  Even when running the A/C I still get good acceleration.

I bought a 2006 Nissan Quest 3.5S Special Edition in Feb.  Because the Van has a computer to calculate the average mpg, it changed my driving habit.  The Average MPG for the first 1880 miles, 20.8 mpg, was recorded by on-board computer.  After installed K&N filter and reset the computer by disconnecting battery ground line of the Quest VAN for 15 minutes, then reconnect, and drive for another 900 miles, my on-board computer shows average 23.3 mpg.  With the same driving style and commuting route, improvement is 12%.  I had traded in my 1995 Quest for this van and the 1995 Van's average mpg was raised from 19.5 to 20.5 mpg after using K&N filter as reported on October 26 2005.

K and N Experience
I bought a 33-2128 panel filter for my 2001 Volkswagen GTI, and I felt an immediate increase in smoothness and acceleration.  The car no longer hesitates when accelerating hard.  Moreover, my fuel economy has increased from about 17 in city to 20 or 21 in city.

A Couple of days ago I bought a K&N Air Filter for my 1998 Ford Explorer.  My old dirty paper air filter really needed to be replaced and I was tired of having to keep replacing it.  I had heard everywhere about K&N Air Filters and I thought I would give it a try.  I would actually be saving money if t worked.  And it did.  I could totally tell the difference in the acceleration mostly.  I was like wow- this product actually works.  So thank you.  Now because of this I’m thinking of buying some more of your products.

All I can say is wow.  I have a 1996 Land Rover Discovery se-7 these trucks are very durable and strong but gas consumption is not one of their good points.  Before I bought the K&N air filter I was getting about 13 mpg town and about 18 mpg Highway with stock Land Rover filters.  Once I bought the K&N air filter my results changed very much.  I now average 16 mpg town and 20-22 mpg highway and I have more horsepower plus on my truck I have 30" tires a steel bumper and steel wheels.  The K&N filters are the best.  My mom has one in her Range Rover and the mileage increased.  K&N makes the best air filters in the world BAR NONE.

Dear K&N, I just installed your replacement air filter part # E-1009 for my 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT 4.2L L6.  I am seeing improvements in all aspects of the word.  I am accelerating better when passing cars, and getting better gas mileage especially when gas prices are creeping up on a national average of $3 a gallon for regular. Thanks K&N

Jags/Chevy/K&N

Hi people,
Just a few lines to say that I have the BEST combination of motoring satisfaction.   I have series 2 Jaguar with 355 Chevy power with a K&N air filter which gives 10% better economy and the K&N oil filter with nut style body takes the drama out of removal etc., besides longer engine oil life of about 16%.  Thanks K&N for value for money.  You are the best !!

Keep doing the good job!

After research through the internet, finally found a most recommended way to improve mileage and performance without major mod of the car that might void the warranty.  Then I tried it on my Acura EL (Japanese Honda Domani), significant improvement on mileage.  Now I am having K&N again on my new TSX.
Thank you for the great job!

Great results with the AirCharger on my 05 Jeep Liberty 3.7L 4x4

I recently purchased the K&N air charger (air intake) kit for my 2005 Jeep Liberty 3.7L 4x4.  I’m not an auto mechanic by any means, so the very detailed installation instructions were perfect as I had the kit installed within the 90 minute estimated install time.  After the install, I took it for a drive and instantly noticed the additional power and the transmission seemed to be shifting much more smoothly now.  A few days after that, I pulled my ATV from NC to WV through the mountains.  When pulling up the big hills, I could really feel the difference in that the engine didn’t seem to work as hard.  If the engine downshifted, there was more power than before.  I had been tracking my gas mileage prior to the install and after the install.  Consumer Reports rated my Jeep in their “real” test as having 10 city and 22 highway.  Before the install, I was getting about 15-16 on my normal drive (no highway).  Now, I am getting 17-18 mpg.  That doesn’t sound like much, but just that much difference can add up to almost 40 more miles per tank (20 gallon tank). That’s a savings of over 2 gallons of gas per tank at $3.00/gallon which is about $6.00 per fill up! So, not only did I gain the extra power, I save money at the pump!

Thanks,

I just installed a K&N FIPK 2 into my 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3L V8 and from the moment I installed it made a huge difference wise.  First of all, the performance was outstanding.  You could feel the kick as soon as I went out for the first time.  Man it moved great.  Next was the appearance.  It looked so good and freed up so much space in the engine compartment that I couldn’t believe it.  I can now get to the bottom of the engine near the radiator without taking anything out.  So far I am very pleased with this product and I am anxious to see what kind of fuel mileage that I get with this on.  Also the sound of this thing is not bad at all.  It actually is very quiet and will really only make noise when I get on it hard.  Very pleased with all your products and please keep up the good job.  This is the only product that I have seen that actually works and does not cost you an arm and a leg.  Thank you again and keep up the good work.

Fantastic Product!!!

I just wanted to say that your product is by way and a far the best I have used.  I own a 2005 Toyota Tacoma and installed your air filter.  I am seeing 30-40 more miles per tank than previously when I used the stock filter.  My truck has more off the line punch and runs smoother in daily driving.  I was so impressed with your product I just purchased a filter for my 2006 Polaris Hawkeye!!!  Thanks for building not only a quality product but a sensible one as well.

1992 BMW 320i

I have always used K&N air filters on all the vehicles I have owned.  Fitting a K&N air filter is the simplest and easiest way at instantly jumping up the enjoyment you get from driving your vehicle.  My latest vehicle is a BMW 320i 1992 E36.  I drove it around for four painful months with the standard paper filter and then the day came when I installed the K&N replacement panel filter.  Wow!!  What an immediate difference.  Now my BMW 320i feels more like a 325, very lively and responsive! I almost have to learn how do drive my car again.  The increased power and mpg are amazing from such a simple product.  My BMW now feels like a weird horse trying to leap forward at every opportunity.  Torque from low down revs right up to red line has jumped right up!  Cruising around, overtaking, off the lights and motorway driving have improved more than I thought possible!  My BMW 320i is now sheer pleasure to drive everyday!  Thanks K&N you have totally transformed my BMW 320i from a tame coupe into a very sporty coupe with improved fuel economy of up to 7-10% !!!  My K&N replacement panel filter will pay for itself within the next few months!!

Thank you,

1998 Blazer FIPK Testimonial

Hey K&N! Just wanted to let you guys know how happy I am with my recent FIPK purchase!

I've been using you filters since '89 on all my vehicles.  I finally got the chance to upgrade my Blazer to FIPK and what a difference over the stock airbox, the truck runs smoother than before.  Also, the gas mileage increase doesn't hurt, either!

I'm impressed

Dear K&N; Being over 50 years old, I'm not easily impressed anymore.  Ya got me.. my 2000 Silverado 4x4 always got a maximum 350 miles on a tank of reg. gas.  I always reset my trip meter when filling up to keep track in case the gauge breaks.  Well I thought it had broken when I was 350 miles and still had almost 1/4 on gauge.  With emergency safe gas in back, decided to keep going. made 400 miles and didn't need the 26gal. to fill up, 24gal. did it.  Scratched head for a while, and went on.  Next tank, same thing.  What's going on?  Then it struck me.  I had replaced my stock air filter, which wasn't really that dirty, with a K&N that cost twice as much as a stock filter as a result of a floating Ping-Pong ball gizmo I saw at Advance Auto Parts a few weeks ago.  120,000 miles on truck with maintenance well kept up with, I thought.

2005 Accord
Have used K&N Air filters since 2000 (my F150).  Installed one in my 2005 Accord 2.4L when I bought it new a year ago.  I’m getting around 34-35 mpg with plenty of pep.  Had put one in a 2003 Civic after running a paper filter for a while and noticed a 3 mpg increase (from 38 to 41)!  This product really works and works well.  More power, increased mpg, don’t understand why they’re not OEM on all cars,

Worth the Money
I recently purchased a K&N Air Filter, and I am already a firm believer in this product and company!  I have an '02 Grand Am GT, which has a very strong 3.4L V6 under the hood!!  Ever since I installed the filter , this thing is even more of a monster!!!!  Putting in a full tank of gas would always make the car feel a little sluggish, but now it gets going like it would with a quarter tank!!  You can actually hear the air being taken in at full and part throttle.  This combined with Ram Air has made a good engine , great!!!!!  Installation is a snap and will take all of 5 to 10 minutes!!!!!!! 12 out 10!!!!!!

Awesome filter
I purchased your direct replacement K&N filter for my 94 Jeep Cherokee.  I noticed an increase in both performance and I am close to the original factory fuel economy again considering the vehicle has over 240 thousand miles.  The sound from the filter box has also changed, giving the vehicle a deeper roar from under the hood when I step on the gas, really gets attention.  I am also an avid off road enthusiast and just love being able to remove the filter after a wet, dusty, or even muddy day of fun in the sun and clean it right up.  I have also notice that the inside of my intake hose leading to the TB remains cleaner than before, which really is a blessing with all the dirt and dust I put my Jeep through.  Thanks for a great product and I look forward to one of your more direct airflow systems.

Well what can I say - I have been riding a Yamaha Dragstar XVS 650cc for some years now with standard air filter, and after replacing it with a K&N air filter I shall never go back to the standard - once you start up the bike you can instantly hear the air intake and the throttle response is so much faster.  I would recommend K&N over standard bike air filters any day.

Well done keep it up.

Thanks so much
I just installed your cold are intake and I am very impressed with the change.  I own a 2001 Silverado with the 5.3 V8.  I did get 18-19 mpg, but now I'm managing 21-22mpg.  That's incredible for a V8 4X4.  Take off is outstanding compared to previously.  Also the sound is a big improvement.  On hard take offs, (very common in my daily driving) you can actually hear it pull so much more air.  And at cruising, (90-95mph) it has a slight whistle to it.  I love it.  It is the best thing I have done for any of my vehicles.  I advise it to anyone with an engine of any type.  Thanks so much for your product.  I really do appreciate it.

I have a 2004 Ford Focus with a 2.3L.  I installed a K&N Aircharger part # 63-1101 in about 30 minutes.  What a difference.  The throttle response and drive-ability increase was unbelievable.  Its clear you spent a lot of time developing this part.  Thank you it was definitely worth the money.

Increased Fuel Economy

I imagine that stories such as this are not unusual for you to receive.  I installed an FIPK (air intake) on my 2002 Ford F-250 S Crew Super Duty Off Road 4x4 pickup truck.  The best mileage I could get before this, even with a K&N Filter replacing the factory cartridge was 11.5 mpg.  I installed the FIPK and drove it around town for about a week before I left on a trip driving from Pittsburgh to Detroit.  The around town performance increased in reference to power on the hills we have around here.  On the trip to Detroit which is mostly on Interstates was uneventful except that when I filled up after getting to Michigan my calculator told me that I got 16 mpg!  I thought I'd made some mistake!  I never expected to recognize that much of an increase!  I zeroed out my trip meter and kept track of the mileage all over again.  The next time I filled up it came out to 15.8 mpg!  I ran the test one more time during the last part of the trip and got 15.9 mpg!  I was in shocked disbelief.  I had recorded all the other figures for fuel consumption and miles and gave them to my buddy to double check my figures I thought maybe my calculator was broken but he came up with the same figures.

I never expected to get a 4.5 mpg increase!  I've been cautious about telling anyone else about the improvement because I didn't think they would believe me.  With 87 octane gasoline at $2.29 per gallon I figure the FIPK should pay for itself very quickly.

Thanks from a satisfied customer,

I just purchased the entire K&N system (intake) for my 2004 Ford F-350 super duty.  The power improvement is there all right, and the mpg went from 11 mpg to 14 mpg.  Even under while plowing snow in four wheel drive the truck performs far better.  Thank you for such a great product.

I put a K&N air filter on my 1994 Toyota 4Runner when I purchased it new in September of 1993.  220,000 miles and 12 1/2 years later the K&N filter is in perfect shape, with just routine cleaning and oiling.

I know I have saved a bundle not buying replacement air filters over the years.  Thanks for a great product.

My expectations have been exceeded.  I already had faith in the use of a K&N filter increasing performance and gas mileage, but I never expected this!  What a difference, in 2 minutes my 1998 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L 4x4 could finally take in a deep breath of clean air!  I use my truck for highway and off road use and the extra bit of "get er' done" really makes it fun out on the trails.  I don't have any data to prove any of this, but you can definitely feel the difference when you step on it.  I had previously upgraded my exhaust with a "performance" muffler which has a flow through design.  After I did this I did notice a small increase in power and the sound was nice too...the real reason I bring this up is because after I added the K&N replacement filter the sound improved greatly and it really does get up and go now!  I am very impressed with this product and will definitely recommend it to all of my friends, family and strangers I meet at Canadian Tire buying a paper filter!!  DON'T DO IT!  I know I have already gotten my money's worth out of this filter.  The gas mileage, the extra power, the better sound...and not to mention the added protection of such a well designed filter which never has to be replaced!  This is great!  Less garbage at the landfills, which I am a huge fan of and did I mention you never have to replace it...oh how my Jeep loves your product.  A great investment for any automobile enthusiast or environmentally conscious driver.   Remember you're saving gas which pollutes the air plus saving it from ending up in a landfill!  Think of how many air filters are being tossed out every year assuming the average driver would hopefully change it once a year.  You get the picture and I hope now you switch to K&N.  I highly recommend it!

Hello:
I own the very first car I ever was a passenger in: a '66 Oldsmobile Delta 88, and recently purchased a K&N filter for it after I had the 425 under the hood partially rebuilt.  This is not the first K&N I have owned, and it will not be the last.  I have always been impressed with the money I have saved by buying these reusable filters, and have noticed a slight improvement in throttle response and fuel economy.

Both my 425 and I thank you for such a good product!

Now if you could make a K&N cabin filter for my '02 Pontiac Montana ...

My neighbor that owns a Honda Civic suggested that I buy a K & N Air Filter for my Toyota Tercel.  After reading some of the comments posted on this site, I decided to look into it.  The average price for a filter for the Tercel was $46 so I went ahead and ordered one.  I installed it a few days ago and went on a 5 hour road trip yesterday.  I could not believe the difference in the amount of power my car has.  I didn't do anything but install the K&N Air Filter.  I also noted that after 5 hours of driving my gas tank would normally be almost empty, but yesterday I still had a little over 1/4 of a tank.  I haven't figured out my gas mileage yet, but there is no doubt that it has improved.  I would highly recommend one of these filters.  The difference in the way the car drives and the extra gas mileage makes it well worth it.  If you do a lot of driving like I do, the cost of buying this filter will pay for itself in gas savings.  I wish someone would have told me about K&N Filters earlier.  GREAT PRODUCT!!!

The amazing K&N air filter

I put a K&N in my 1992 Jeep Cherokee and immediately noticed a big difference.  I now have 183,000 miles on my Jeep and still average about twenty to twenty two mile per gallon.  As a mechanic I believe with a paper filter my results would be far different, keep up the good work guys.

Toyota 75 Series Ute.

I owned a 1995 Toyota 75 series 4.2 litre Ute.  I could not drive from Cloncurry to Longreach on one tank of fuel.  I was lucky to get 495 kilometers to 84 litres of fuel at 2,600 revs. which is about 112 kmh Plus the vechicle was sluggish and had to be driven hard to get up and going.  It was recommended by a friend I fit a K&N filter.  I noticed the difference immediately driving in town.  The vechicle would pull in 5th gear at 40kmh and keep gaining speed without having to put the pedal to the metal.  I left Southport on the Gold Coast and drove to the main highway rounabout at Rockhampton before switching to the front tank.  Odometer read 712 klm's on one tank the vechicle was fitted with two fuel tanks.  I could get 84 litres out of the rear tank and 87 litres out of the front tank.  I drove 1466 kilometers at 2,600rpm on both tanks of fuel.  I could achieve 600+ around town because the vechicle didn't require hard driving to get to speed.  The vechicle went from returning around 5.5 klm's to a litre to around 8.57 klm's a litre.  I would recommend the fitting of a K&N air filter to any vechicle.  I have one fitted to my wife's Mitsubishi Galant GSR. and have now fitted one to my Landrover Discovery Tdi

K&N FIPK on a 2004 Crown Victoria Sport

Gentlemen: I installed a FIPK system on my 2004 Crown Vic LX Sport this AM.  I purchased this automobile new in May of 2004.  The stock dual mufflers were changed to 10" glasspacks the day of purchase.  This car now has 34,000 miles on it & runs much better than any of my previous Crown Vics (1993 & 1999).  I immediately noticed & felt a vast improvement in the acceleration of this car when the FIPK system was installed.  The car shows an improvement in acceleration while in OD at 70 + mph.  The system cannot be heard at normal driving speeds but when "putting your foot in it" the increased intake can be heard with the sound of the duals.  The owner of the Ford dealership, after driving my car, ordered a system for his Lincoln Town car.

The first thing I do when I buy a new car is get a K&N Air Filter.  I learned years ago that no other filter can match your K&N.  At today's gas prices a little gain in mileage is worth the money and of course everyone likes a few more horses under the hood.  You have nothing to loose and a lot to gain.

Thank you so much K&N for an excellent product.  One I learned that really works for a small amount of money. That is a hard deal to beat.

To everyone at K&N,
I recently purchased and installed a K&N typhoon kit for my 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier.  The vehicle has the Ecotec engine new to GM's small car line.  The installation was a breeze.  The instructions you sent me, truly made this a one hour job. (very easy, and fun) The fit and finish of the Typhoon kit was perfect, everything laid right into place with ease, and was very well designed.  While shopping for my intake, I noticed that K&N was the only company that included a Manual transmission clutch reservoir relocation bracket in the kit. (because my car's reservoir was built onto the stock airbox that was replaced by the Typhoon kit)  Other intake brands charged extra for this piece.  To make a long story short, the intake showed a 6hp gain to the wheels on my vehicle, which is a 2.2l four cyl. with 140hp stock.  This gain can be felt at the mid to top end of the rpm range.  Another great thing about this intake, is that it remains quiet, and inaudible in tone, and then gives a great sound at wide open throttle.  So you don't constantly have to hear the tone of the intake, until you're ready to use it.  All in all I found this intake kit to be well worth the money and I would install one on other cars in the future!  Keep making a quality product for Sport Compacts and I will keep buying them!

Thanks K&N!

Thanks K&N Filters,
We race super late models in the Nascar Dodge weekly racing series in Las Vegas, Nevada.  We installed a K&N oil filter HP5001 in place of brand-X and noticed after one race when we would normally change our oil, that we could go at least two races.  After two races we noticed that we still didn't have to change our oil.  "What is going on we asked" so we called the tech staff and they started laughing at what we were saying because they already knew what the capabilities of the filter were. They told us: don't be surprised if you don't have to change your oil for 4-5 races. Wow our maintenance budget was cut 2/3rds. We race with K&N oil filters and only with K&N oil filters. To top it all off, the filter is cheaper than brand-x!
